Burrows, one of the team's key acquisitions at the NHL trade deadline, has picked up the pace in April. After posting no goals and just one assist in the final eight games in March, Burrows posted two goals and four points with a plus-2 rating in six April outings. That includes a goal and plus-1 rating on April 6 against Boston, the first-round opponent of the Senators.

Burrows (upper body) will be back in the lineup Saturday against the Jets, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Burrows' injury evidently was minor, as he had only missed Thursday's road game against the Wild as a result. The agitating veteran with a scoring touch has mostly been residing in a bottom-six role since his trade from Vancouver at the trade deadline, thus limiting his appeal to some of the deeper leagues.

Burrows will be excluded from Thursday's lineup against the Wild as he tends to an upper-body injury, TSN reports.

Fortunately for the Senators, Viktor Stalberg is ready to return from an upper-body ailment of his own. Burrows has been without a point in his last five games, hitting a wall after starting hot offensively -- including three multi-point outings over six games -- following his trade from the Canucks at the deadline. When healthy, Burrows is a decent contributor, but there's not one particular area for which he totally shines.

Additionally, he's also currently presenting nice value in daily contests. Burrows has registered 120 shots and 53 PIM through 58 games to provide decent peripheral coverage, too. Still, while things look peachy now, it would be surprising to see Burrows continue tilting the offensive needle to this degree through the end of season.

GM Pierre Dorion was criticized for surrendering prospect Jonathan Dahlen in a deal for Burrows, but the veteran winger will change that perception in a hurry if he continues producing like this. Despite posting just four points in his final 20 games with the Canucks, Burrows skated in a top-six role on a line with Derrick Brassard and Mike Hoffman. One game against the worst team in the league isn't a definitive sample size, but there's no denying that the four-time 25-goal-scorer's stock is on the rise following the change of scenery.

The new acquisition is getting a golden opportunity in Canada's capital city, skating with two very talented forwards. His goal production has dropped dramatically in recent seasons, but perhaps a change of scenery will give him renewed confidence. Burrows will likely see plenty of time on the power-play unit, too, making him a nice short-term add in fantasy pools until Bobby Ryan (finger) is able to return.

Once a highly-productive player in Vancouver, Burrows offensive production has plummeted in recent years, scoring just 41 goals in 253 games over the past four seasons. Ottawa likely did not want to sign a soon-to-be 36-year-old in decline through 2018-19, but were essentially forced into it due to expansion draft rules. Unless Burrows finds a spark in Ottawa, there's a very real possibility that he won't play out the entirety of this deal.

It seems highly unlikely he will make it to Tampa in time for Monday's game, making Thursday against the Avalanche the most likely date of his debut with his new organization.

Burrows also racked up two PIM and was a thorn in goaltender Robin Lehner's side all night long. The 35-year-old has put up back-to-back multi-point games after a rough stretch in which he went 12 consecutive games without appearing on the scoresheet. His 20 points and 49 PIM make him valuable in some deeper leagues, but he would gain value if he was dealt to a contender at the trade deadline.
