Burrows signed a two-year extension worth $2.5 million per season on Tuesday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Once a highly-productive player in Vancouver, Burrows offensive production has plummeted in recent years, scoring just 41 goals in 253 games over the past four seasons. Ottawa likely did not want to sign a soon-to-be 36-year-old in decline through 2018-19, but were essentially forced into it due to expansion draft rules. Unless Burrows finds a spark in Ottawa, there's a very real possibility that he won't play out the entirety of this deal.
