Lyon allowed three goals on 11 shots in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins on Sunday. He was pulled after 22:37 and replaced by Petr Mrazek.
EDGE Analysis
Since this game went into overtime Lyon didn't factor into the result, but his performance was still poor. The rookie hasn't impressed in limited action, as he has a 2.75 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Once Brian Elliott or Michal Neuvirth is ready to return Lyon will be sent back to the AHL, but there is no timetable on either of those netminders.

Lyon will be the road starter against the Penguins on Sunday, Bob Pompeani of KDKA TV reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lyon has a 2.49 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 10 appearances this season. The 25-year-old rookie could be in for a tough matchup, as the Penguins have averaged 3.25 goals and 34.6 shots on net per contest. However, at home Pittsburgh is even tougher, averaging 3.62 goals and 37.1 shots on goal per game.

Lyon made 33 saves in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Lyon and fellow rookie Alexander Georgiev each faced 36 shots, but Lyon managed to get to one more puck than his Russian counterpart. While New York scored one goal in each frame, this was still a stronger goaltending performance than Philadelphia had been getting out of Petr Mrazek recently. With a playoff berth hanging in the balance, don't be surprised to see Lyon a lot down the stretch if Mrazek can't get it together soon.

Lyon will command the crease Thursday evening against the visiting Rangers, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Flyers are turning to Lyon after he performed well in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Red Wings on Tuesday -- he stopped 11 of 12 shots upon relieving Petr Mrazek against the Czech's former old team. Lyon, who's a rookie, will be opposed by a New York team that ranks seventh on the power play (21.9), but only 16th in goals per game (2.85). The rookie checks out as a value play against a Rangers club that has lost two straight games and carries a porous minus-25 goal differential.

Lyon, who relieved struggling starter Petr Mrazek on Tuesday, allowed one goal on 12 shots in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
The stats don't really tell the story of how well Lyon played in this one. He stepped in against Mrazek's former team and the Flyers rallied behind him to force overtime. Detroit winger Anthony Mantha also wired a slick pass to defenseman Danny DeKeyser in the overtime frame that Lyon was able to track down right at the doorstep. Sure, the rookie allowed the lone shootout goal, but he was victimized by none other than the NHL's all-time shootout leader in Frans Nielsen, so a free pass is warranted on that front. The Flyers have slid into wild-card position and each point is absolutely critical, so we wouldn't be surprised to see coach Dave Hakstol turn to Lyon on Thursday against the Rangers. After all, Mrazek has an egregious .885 save percentage through 12 games with Philadelphia.

Lyon stopped 23 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie won his third career NHL game, and with a .929 save percentage over his last three games, Lyon might be the latest temporary savior in net for the Flyers. Petr Mrazek remains at the top of the depth chart for now, but if he continues to struggle, Lyon could well get his shot at regular duty.

Lyon will guard the goal in Saturday's road game against the Hurricanes, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lyon has been decent in limited action this season, compiling a 2-2-0 record while registering a 2.57 GAA and .912 save percentage in seven appearances. The 25-year-old backstop will look to secure his third win of the season in a road matchup with a Carolina club that's only averaging 2.54 goals per game at home this campaign, 28th in the NHL.

Lyon saved 18 of 19 shots after entering early in the second period of Thursday's 5-3 loss to Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie gave the Flyers a puncher's chance Thursday, and with Petr Mrazek winning just one of his past seven starts, Lyon could be forced into duty more regularly with Philadelphia's playoff berth in jeopardy. Still, Lyon's mediocre numbers through two seasons of AHL duty shouldn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Lyon made 24 saves in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Lyon played pretty well, but he failed to maintain his concentration all the way through the final buzzer. Brian Gionta beat him in the final minute of the opening frame to break a 1-1 tie and Brad Marchand broke a 2-2 tie with 22 seconds left in the third period. Philadelphia's winless in its past five games, so the backup netminder's value isn't exactly at a high point right now.

Lyon will be the road starter against the Bruins on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old rookie has a heavy load to shoulder in this one. Boston is 23-7-4 at home and has won four in a row. Plus, the Bruins have scored 3.31 goals per game, fourth highest in the NHL. Lyon has a 2.88 GAA and a .903 save percentage, so there's little if anything pointing in his favor.
