That's quite the reversal of fortune from the seven-game skid without a point that preceded this stretch.

Killorn was a difference maker Thursday in a 4-1 win over Buffalo, having recorded a power-play goal on a season-high seven shots to along with a plus-1 rating and a helper.

Killorn snapped a seven-game pointless drought with the fine effort in this one. Impressively, he managed all of that production despite garnering a mere 12:08 of ice time. The Bolts will need Killorn to be more consistent as stud pivot Steven Stamkos (knee) will be out for at least four months.

Killorn scored his sixth goal of the season Thursday in a 3-1 loss to Montreal.

He's been the model of consistency, at least as far as finish goes. Killorn has picked up a goal in six of the team's seven games. And those six vault him into a tie among the league leaders in that category. Killorn will not maintain this pace, so you must milk this for all it's worth.

There's a good bit of luck involved here -- the guy's scored three goals on five shots -- but it's nice to see Killorn get off to a strong start. Still, the 27-year-old's role is nearly identical to that of the past few seasons, and he's always been streaky, so it doesn't seem overly likely that Killorn will contribute much beyond his typical 40-ish points.

Killorn has spent the first four years of his career with the Lightning and has now re-upped with the organization despite filing for arbitration earlier in July. He's coming off a 2015-16 campaign where he posted 14 goals and 26 assists and considering he's just 26 years old, there's still plenty of room for improvement. After Killorn established himself as a key piece in the Lightning's recent Stanley Cup run, the team felt he was a valuable piece in their rotation, so look for him to take on a similar, if not slightly larger, role during the upcoming season. While the regular season left a bit to be desired in terms of his fantasy value, Killorn showed his potential in the playoffs and could have more appeal in his fifth campaign.
