Hemsky has been classified as day-to-day with a hip injury.
EDGE Analysis
While there's been no word on Hemsky's status for Saturday's away game against the Hurricanes, the fact that he has been hit with the day-to-day tag now indicates that he is likely questionable at best for that contest, as well as for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay. This injury is likely an aggravation of the hip problem that caused him to miss the majority of the season, so the offseason can't come soon enough for the 33-year-old.

Hemsky scored both of his team's goals and added seven shots in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Hemsky set season highs in goals, points, shots and ice time (17:48), and was deservedly given a chance to add to his stat line in the third round of the shootout. Unfortunately, he was stopped by goalie Corey Crawford with the game on the line. Still, the veteran winger is rounding into form with three goals in his past four games after going without one in his first six since returning from hip surgery.

Hemsky (undisclosed) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Hemsky is riding a two-game assist streak after a successful outing Sunday that included three shots on goal. He is projected to skate on Dallas' second line Tuesday alongside Jamie Benn and Cody Eakin.

Hemsky did not practice Friday as a result of "soreness," per coach Lindy Ruff.
EDGE Analysis
Hemsky has played just four games since returning from hip surgery that kept him out for most of the season, so it's entirely possible that this soreness is just a lingering consequence of the injury. Ruff added that the team will take it game by game with Hemsky, making the winger at least questionable for Sunday's game in San Jose. Since making his return, he's recorded an assist and five shots on goal from Dallas' third line.

Hemsky (hip) will draw into the lineup Thursday night versus the Islanders, the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the Stars are out of playoff contention, Hemsky has plenty of motivation to play at a high level since he'll be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Still, it's highly unlikely that other teams would be willing to match the $4 million per season that he's been banking with Dallas. Fantasy owners should expect the 33-year-old Czech skater to start out in a fourth-line role Thursday.

Hemsky (hip) is healthy enough to suit up against the Islanders on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Even though Hemsky is eligible to return, coach Lindy Ruff told reporters no decision had been made as to whether the winger would slot back onto the ice. Given the depth of talent the Stars have on the right side, the 33-year-old may need to move over to the left in order to crack the lineup. Technically, Hemsky remains on injured reserve, but should be activated prior to puck-drop.

Hemsky is ahead of schedule in his recovery from hip surgery and is nearing a return to Dallas' lineup.
EDGE Analysis
Hemsky was originally given a 5-to-6 month recovery timetable after undergoing hip surgery in late October, but it appears he could be ready to return to action just four months after going under the knife. A more definite timetable for the veteran forward's return to the Stars' lineup should be established once he's cleared to start practicing with his teammates.

Hemsky (hip) will play again this season, per coach Lindy Ruff, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
You've got to admire Hemsky's resolve to bounce back from hip surgery and maybe even squeeze in a few games before the campaign expires, but with the Stars' playoff hopes looking extremely bleak, there may not be much incentive for him to rush back.

Hemsky (hip) underwent surgery Monday and will be out 5-6 months.
EDGE Analysis
If Hemsky comes back in five months, it'll be just before the playoffs with only a few games remaining, so he is not worth stashing in yearly-redraft leagues. Since he has barely seen the ice this season, his absence won't change the Stars' lines much.

The Stars placed Hemsky (groin) on injured reserve Monday, reports NHL.com's Mark Stepneski.
EDGE Analysis
Hemsky missed the start of the season with this injury and pulled back into the lineup Saturday against Columbus. He re-injured his groin in that game and won't be back until next Saturday against the Wild at the earliest. With how things have gone so far, you will want to see him skating and healthy before adding him to your roster.
