The St. Louis native isn't going to blow the doors off for fantasy owners, but can offer some decent mid-range value -- especially in leagues that utilize ancillary stats like hits and blocks.

While Lowry may not be the most prolific scorer, fantasy owners were certainly hoping he'd produce closer to his 2016-17 numbers (15 goals) than his eight tallies this year. The winger's productivity was limited by the fact that he appeared in a mere 45 contests due to various injuries. If he can stay healthy during 2018-19, the St. Louis native should be capable of pushing for the 30-point threshold in a bottom-six role.

There's no word of an injury and it appears that the Jets are strategically resting the 6-foot-5, 210-pound center to keep him fresh during the playoff grind. As noted in this latest report, Lowry was withheld from practice between Games 3 and 4 against the Wild, but the heavy hitter has yet to miss a contest in the conference quarterfinals.

Lowry will take Tuesday's game against the Canadiens off to rest minor issues, Mitchell Clinton of Jets TV reports.

Coach Paul Maurice relayed Tuesday that he would give everyone who is not 100 percent healthy a day off against the Canadiens and it appears Lowry will take advantage of that opportunity. However, he's expected to rejoin the lineup for Thursday's affair against the Flames.

Lowry had a pair of assists, scoring for the third time in four games, as his side earned a 6-5 win over Ottawa on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

This was the first time Lowry has broken 15 minutes of ice time since Jan. 5, but that could also be in part because the Jets held a 3-0 lead and were able to control the rest of the contest. Still, there's a chance Lowry might have earned some trust from coach Paul Maurice that he's back to full strength. He's worth monitoring moving forward.

Lowry notched an assist and one shot on goal in a 4-2 win over the Stars on Sunday.

This was big for Lowry, who returned after missing 19 games with an upper-body injury. In fact, the 24-year-old missed 27 of 29 games prior to Sunday's outing. Though he got an assist, Lowry only played 10:33, well below his average. That may have been in part because of his lengthy absence, but the presence of Paul Stastny may cut into his minutes as well.

Lowry has suited up for just two of the last 27 games due to injuries, but he appears ready to get back on track. The bottom-six winger has compiled eight goals and 14 points through 35 games, but his physical contributions -- 95 hits -- are much more valuable to the Jets. Lowry makes the occasional appearance on the power play, which is the peak of his fantasy value since the Jets convert on a whopping 23.7 percent of power plays -- ranked third in the league.

Lowry (upper body) will take part in Saturday's practice decision and could suit up versus Dallas on Sunday, Sara Orlesky of TSN.ca reports.

Lowry -- who has played in just two of the Jets' previous 28 outings due to injuries -- will miss at least one more game, as this news effectively rules him out for Thursday's tilt against Chicago. Lowry's pending reintroduction to the lineup -- along with Mark Scheifele's (upper body) impending return -- could see both Brandon Tanev and Joel Armia relegated to the press box.

While Lowry is not expected to be in action against Washington on Monday, the fact that he has been cleared for contact is a big step in his recovery. When the winger slots back into the lineup remains to be seen, but Matt Hendricks figures to be the odd man out once Lowry is given the all-clear.
