His fantasy value isn't very high in standard formats, but those that count defensive metrics could earn him more interest.

It was Larsson's second goal of the year and first since the season opener. Primarily known as a shutdown defender, Larsson has struggled in his own end this season while providing just the two goals offensively. He also a minus-4 and doesn't provide managers with significant PIM totals, so he's best left on the waiver wire.

Larsson should provide plenty of physicality -- he had 112 hits and 82 blocked shots in only 49 outings last year, but that came with just six points.

Larsson was held out of Game 4 against the Blackhawks on Friday with a back injury, Jason Gregor of OilersNation.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Larsson was expected to be ready for Game 5, if needed, but the club couldn't extend the series long enough for him to return to action. Considering he managed just one point in his last 15 outings, the blueliner's absence likely didn't impact the majority of fantasy players. With limited offensive upside, Larsson figures to be a non-factor in fantasy contests.

Larsson (undisclosed) will miss Game 4 against the Blackhawks on Friday, Ryan Rishaug of TSN.ca reports.

EDGE Analysis

Caleb Jones will remain in the Oilers' lineup with Larsson still out. The 27-year-old blueliner hasn't been much of a fantasy asset of late, registering just a single point in his last 15 appearances.
