The rookie defenseman opened the scoring just 19 seconds into the contest and later drew an assist on the second of two Kaapo Kakko goals. Fox is in the midst of a three-game point streak (one goal, four assists) and has totaled seven goals and 40 points in 69 games on the year.

Fox produced two shots and a block over 23:22 of ice time in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Boston. He skated 5:57 on the power play.

Fox racked up a hefty allotment of power-play time with fellow offensive-minded blueliner Anthony DeAngelo (upper body) unavailable, but the rookie didn't contribute to Mika Zibanejad's third-period power-play goal. With 31 points in 58 games, Fox makes for a prudent DFS option as long as DeAngelo remains sidelined.

His second-period tally came on a great individual effort, as he beat a defender along the boards with a shifty move and then tucked the puck past Semyon Varlamov from a very sharp angle. Fox has been on a roll lately, scoring a goal and nine points in his last seven games, and the 21-year-old rookie is up to 26 points (six goals, 20 helpers) through his first 45 NHL contests.

Fox picked up three assists, two on the power play, in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Flames.

EDGE Analysis

Fox, who was a third-round selection of the Flames in 2016, came back to haunt the team that drafted him. The Harvard product had a hand in all three Rangers goals, but it wasn't enough for the win. The 21-year-old has produced an excellent rookie year with 22 points (10 on the power play), 69 shots and 53 blocked shots in 40 games. He's added five helpers in his last two games -- the defenseman could make for a good DFS option for Saturday's game in Vancouver.

Fox posted a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory against the Hurricanes on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

With the multi-point performance, Fox has points in each of his last three games and in four of the last five. His 10.0 shooting percentage is likely unsustainable, but he already has four goals and 13 points with a plus-6 rating. Throw in 40 shots on net and 26 blocks, it's hard to imagine a better start for Fox to his rookie season.

The 21-year-old continues to play on New York's third defensive pairing but also sees a regular shift on the power play, so Fox does carry noticeable fantasy value. His two points in Tuesday's win give Fox eight points on the year, and the young defenseman has now pitched in six points over his last five games.

The 21-year-old defenseman jumped into an odd-man rush late in the third period and banged home a rebound to put the Rangers up 3-1. The rookie from Harvard logged just over 16 minutes of ice time, including some time on the power play, and now has two points in his first 10 NHL games.

Fox got his first NHL point in his eighth game with a third-period assist in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.

EDGE Analysis

Despite the lack of point production, Fox has looked comfortable at the NHL level, using his excellent stick skills and vision to drive possession for the Rangers. He was a dominant offensive force at the NCAA level with Harvard, so don't be surprised to see the 21-year-old Jericho, New York native start to contribute more points as he gets acclimated to playing with the big boys.

Fox has made New York's Opening Night roster.

EDGE Analysis

Fox displayed a tremendous combination of vision and hockey sense throughout camp, masking any perceived deficiencies from his pedestrian size and speed. The 21-year-old blueliner totaled 48 points in 33 games at Harvard last season, so dynasty league owners should jump on Fox while those in redraft leagues are advised to monitor his progress as well in case that production translates to immediate NHL success.
