Ekblad played in all 82 games this season for the first time in his career, setting personal bests in goals (16), penalty minutes (71), and average time on ice (23:23).
EDGE Analysis
Ekblad's 38 points were his best since posting 39 in an impressive rookie campaign during the 2014-15 season. The 22-year-old blueliner scored his 16 goals on just 189 shots on goal, compared to his 225 shots on goal last season in 14 fewer games. This caused his shooting percentage to nearly double -- going from 4.4 percent to 8.5 percent this year. Despite Florida narrowly missing the postseason, it was a step in the right direction for the young defenseman. Look for Ekblad to continue to evolve his game next season and attempt to break the 40-point mark for the first time in his career.

Ekblad scored an unassisted goal and received seven PIM during Monday's 2-0 win over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
The 2014 first overall selection has turned up his offensive game of late with five goals and 10 assists through his past 21 games. The hot stretch has Ekblad up to 32 points for the campaign, and in settings including plus-minus rating, his plus-2 mark is a huge upgrade on last season's minus-23. Additionally, he's now amassed a career-high 69 PIM, as his well-rounded fantasy campaign continues to roll along.

Ekblad delivered an assist in a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The assist extended Ekblad's point streak to four games, which is his second longest on the season. Ever since the New Year the 22-year-old has elevated his game offensively, as he's notched 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 25 contests, bringing his point total up to 28 for 2017-18. Ekblad's also averaging 29.2 shifts per game (12th most in the NHL) and should continue to see heavy usage as Florida rides out its six game winning streak, and the only limitation to his offensive production is his lack of power-play opportunities. Only four of his 16 points since the New Year have come on the man advantage, partially because Keith Yandle has locked down the defensive position on the first unit, leaving Ekblad to come out with the second line.

Ekblad recorded a power-play goal, an assist and four shots during Monday's 7-5 win over Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Ekblad is now up to a four-game point streak consisting of three goals and three assists. He's well on his way to returning to the 30-point plateau, and his even plus-minus rating is a huge improvement on last season's minus-23 mark. While it seems like Ekblad has been around forever, he's only in his age-21 season, so he's likely still a couple years away from entering his prime.

Ekblad scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
It was Ekblad's first multi-point game since Oct. 12, a span of 47 games. The big defender has scuffled since his excellent rookie season and this season is yet another struggle. Ekblad is on a pace that won't deliver 30 points if he manages to play out the rest of the games this season. He's better than this, but we hope Ekblad's trajectory is different than Tyler Myers'.

Ekblad fired seven shots on net in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
While Ekblad failed to get on the scoresheet, it wasn't for lack of trying. The 2014 first overall pick has been snakebitten over the past two seasons, as he's scored just 19 goals on 356 shots in 116 appearances since the start of 2016-17 after potting 27 goals on 352 shots in 159 games over his first two campaigns.

Ekblad scored the Panthers' lone goal on three shots while adding a hit, two PIM and a minus-3 rating in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
He's now lit the lamp three times in the last five games, putting Ekblad easily on pace for his fourth consecutive campaign with double-digit goals. The 21-year-old hasn't yet truly broken out as an offensive force, but his upside remains sky high, especially if the Panthers can add more talent in front of him.

Ekblad slammed home the overtime winner in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
The 21-year-old defenseman now has eight goals and 14 points on the season. Despite averaging a career-high 23:51 of ice-time, Ekblad still struggles to find his name on the scoresheet regularly and he's had two separate scoreless droughts that lasted 10 games or longer. At this point he simply isn't a reliable fantasy option in standard leagues.

Ekblad has gone scoreless in his last five games.
EDGE Analysis
The 21-year-old blueliner potted a goal in three consecutive home games prior to his current scoring drought which occurred during the Panthers' recent five-game road trip, so there's reason to believe he may be able to find the scoresheet again when Florida returns home for Friday's matchup with the Wild.

Ekblad was held off the scoresheet for the fifth consecutive game during Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Well, you can't say he's not trying; Ekblad peppered nine shots on goal Sunday but simply couldn't find the back of the net. Over the last nine games, the 6-foot-4 blueliner has registered just one assist with a minus-4 rating. Since his 39-point, Calder Trophy-winning performance a few years ago, Ekblad has seen a steady decline in his offensive production. He'll look to break out of the funk Wednesday against Toronto.
