Ekblad skated a game-high 25:25 in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
With an early injury to Mike Matheson (lower body), Ekblad's ice time took a bump in the contest. Ekblad also ended the night a plus-3 for his efforts, the first time he's ended a game with that high of a mark all season. Although he's gone pointless in five games, Ekblad and the Panthers have been playing well, winning three straight.

Ekblad tallied two assists, a plus-2 rating and two shots during Saturday's 5-4 overtime win against the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Ekblad has been heating up with two goals and seven points in his last seven games. The first overall pick from the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has yet to crack the 40-point mark in his NHL career but has an outside chance to do so in 2018-19 if he can produce consistently down the stretch. Keep playing him as you normally would.

Ekblad picked up an assist during a 3-1 win over the Golden Knights on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Ekblad has been the definition of streaky this season, as all of his scoring has come in clumps of games. Despite that, he is still on pace to end the year with 36 points, hitting his career average of 34 points per season.

Ekblad scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Ekblad gave the Panthers life with a power-play goal to cut the deficit to three, but it would be overturned after an offside ruling. His goal late in the second period would stand as called and with it, the 22-year-old now has points in four straight games. He's up to 17 points in 41 games this season.

Ekblad scored a goal during a 4-3 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets on Saturday, extending his scoring streak to three games.
EDGE Analysis
After going nine games without a single point during the middle of January, Ekblad now has points in three straight. He has been streaky this season, scoring in groups of two or three games before falling off the scoresheet, so do not expect his current streak to continue much longer.

Mon 12/31/18 11:41 AM

Ekblad has gone nine games without a point despite the Panthers being top 10 in goals for per game.
EDGE Analysis
With only 13 points in 37 games, this season is on pace to be the former 1st overall's second-worst season offensively. This despite the Panthers having an extremely potent offense lead by Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov, and Mike Hoffman. Fellow defenseman Keith Yandle has taken the first unit power play quarterback role, leaving Ekblad in a more defensively-focused position in the lineup.

Ekblad tied the game with a goal late in the second as the Panthers went on to lose 5-4 in a shootout to the Rangers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Despite failing to score a goal during the first 14 games of the season, Ekblad now has seven goals on the season. He has 11 points in his last 14 games as the Cats have not had trouble putting the puck in the net. The 22-year-old also extended his streak of 30 straight games with a shot on goal, which reaches back to the end of last season.

Ekblad recorded a point in his third straight game, an assist, during a 3-2 loss to the Ducks on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
This three-game streak comes after a four game point streak in mid-November, giving him eight points in his last nine games. The Panthers may be struggling to stay .500 but Ekblad has done well. He should end the season close to 40 points as he has in three out of his four seasons in the league.

Ekblad scored a goal during an eventual 5-4 overtime loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Ekblad finally broke out offensively in November, as he has had four goals and six points in his last seven games. However, he ended the game against the Blackhawks a minus-three, his worst rating on the season.

Ekblad added two assists to the regular-season ledger Monday, showing well in a 7-5 road win over the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
The fun didn't stop there, as Ekblad also secured a game-high three blocked shots. Overall, the Finnish defenseman has been unspectacular by his own standards -- he's averaging 0.39 points per game -- but Ekblad remains a quality possession player with a Corsi For percentage of 54.0 over 327 career contests.
