Baun (back) will be a limited participant in Saturday's training camp practice, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Baun has been sidelined with a back contusion since late July, but he has progressed enough in his recovery to return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity. If he can increase his practice reps over the coming week, that would put him in a good spot to suit up for the Eagles' second preseason game against the Browns on Saturday, Aug. 16. Baun signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Eagles in March after a career year in 2024, finishing with 151 tackles (93 solo), including 3.5 sacks, four pass defenses (one interception), five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery across 16 regular-season games.

Baun (back) will not practice Tuesday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Baun will log his first absence of training camp due to a back injury, paving the way for rookie first-round pick Jihaad Campbell to handle increased first-team reps. Fresh off a career year in which he tallied 151 total tackles (93 solo), including 3.5 sacks, across 16 regular-season games, Baun returned to Philadelphia via a three-year, $51 million contract this offseason and is primed to repeat as a premier IDP option at linebacker for 2025. As such, it will be no surprise if the Eagles opt to take a cautious approach to the 28-year-old's health at this stage of the summer.

Baun agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract with the Eagles on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Baun could have explored his options in free agency when the new league year begins next week, but it was likely an easy decision for both the 28-year-old and the Eagles to come to terms on a new deal in the wake of a wildly successful first season in Philadelphia. After playing primarily on special teams and serving as a backup outside linebacker over his first four NFL seasons in New Orleans, Baun inked a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Eagles last March and emerged as a Week 1 starter at inside linebacker. The Wisconsin product went on to record 3.5 sacks among his 151 total tackles (tied for sixth-most in the NFL) and tacked on five forced fumbles over 16 games during the regular season, then added 33 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble over the Eagles' four postseason contests. With a lavish new contract in tow, Baun should profile as one of the top IDP options at linebacker in 2025.

Baun (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Baun and other Eagles starters were able to rest during practice this week since Philadelphia is already locked in as the NFC's No. 2 seed. The 2020 third-round pick will end his first regular season in Philadelphia with 151 tackles (93 solo), including 3.5 sacks, four pass defenses (including one interception), five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery across 16 games. With Nakobe Dean (abdomen) also sitting Sunday, Jeremiah Trotter and Oren Burks will likely start at inside linebacker while Dallas Gant serves in a rotational role.

Baun (rest) is listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
With the Eagles already having the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs locked up, they are likely to rest a vast majority of their starters, including Baun, Jalen Carter (rest), Darius Slay (rest) and Nakobe Dean (rest). Baun had a remarkable first season in Philadelphia, entering Week 18 with the fourth-most tackles in the NFL (151). Jeremiah Trotter and Oren Burks are expected to serve as the Eagles' top inside linebacker duo in Week 18, with both Baun and Dean listed as doubtful.

Baun recorded seven total tackles (one solo) and one pass defended in Sunday's 41-7 win over the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
The Wisconsin product had recorded 10 or more total tackles in three of his last four games before Sunday's blowout win. However, Baun still finished second on the Eagles' defense in stops, trailing Oren Burks' eight-tackle effort. Baun, a first-year Eagle, has now tallied 151 total tackles (fourth-most in the NFL), including 3.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and four passes defended while appearing in all 16 of Philadelphia's games this season. The Eagles may rest Baun in the Week 18 matchup against the Giants, having already secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture.

Baun recorded 11 total tackles (seven solo), including two tackles for loss, in Sunday's 36-33 loss to the Commanders.
EDGE Analysis
The Wisconsin product has recorded 11 or more tackles in four of his last six games, brining his season total up to 145 stops, which ranks third-best in the NFL. Baun has put together an incredible season in his first year with the Eagles, leading the team in total tackles and forced fumbles (five) through 15 games. He and Nakobe Dean form one of the NFL's best inside linebacker duos and are expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing offenses as the season progresses.

Baun recorded 15 tackles (nine solo) and a pass defensed during Thursday's 26-18 win versus the Commanders.
EDGE Analysis
Baun was on the field for all 63 of Philadelphia's defensive snaps in Week 11, and he managed his highest tackle total since Week 1. Only four players have more total tackles this season than Baun (102) as he prepares for a Week 12 tilt against the Rams.

Baun recorded eight total tackles (three solo), including one tackle for loss, in Sunday's 34-6 win over the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Baun led the Eagles' defense in total tackles for the third consecutive game Sunday, bringing his season total up to 81 stops. The first-year Eagle has already doubled his previous season high in tackles through nine games this season, also tying his previous bests in sacks (2.0) and passes passes defended (two). Expect Baun to continue making plays for Philadelphia's defense as the year progresses.
