Jaguars released G Will Rackley. Rackley, a 2011 third-round pick, was a disaster in his 11 starts at left guard last season. The Jaguars need his roster spot as they bring in third-round G/T Brandon Linder and a host of UDFAs.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said the team only sees LG Will Rackley as a "swing guy." Rackley, the 76th pick in the 2011 draft, has started 25-of-26 games he's appeared in at left guard but was thoroughly destroyed both as a run and pass blocker this past season. Caldwell says the team has given him some looks at center in practice, so he could be potential interior line depth. The Florida Times-Union considers left guard and center major areas of need for the Jaguars.

Jaguars placed LG Will Rackley (concussion) on injured reserve, ending his season. Rackley suffered his second concussion of the season last week. He was reportedly dealing with a "severe" headache on Saturday morning. The effects of Rackley's first concussion lingered for weeks. It's a scary situation for the third-year pro, who has graded out near the bottom of Pro Football Focus' guard ratings. Rackley's backup is Mike Brewster, but he's also been sent to injured reserve. Jacques McClendon should get the start in Week 16.

Jaguars LG Will Rackley (knee) played every snap in Sunday's Week 2 loss at Oakland. Rackley bounced back well from the lateral knee sprain he sustained in Week 1. The Jags still managed just 34 rushing yards on 19 attempts and Chad Henne got sacked five times.

Jagaurs LG Will Rackley has been diagnosed with a minor lateral knee sprain. Rackley went down in the fourth quarter of the Week 1 blowout and did not return. But according to coach Gus Bradley, Rackley could be back in practice as soon as Wednesday. It's good news for the Jags as Mike Brewster would be a significant downgrade.

Jaguars LG Will Rackley has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle. It's a sigh of relief for the Jags. On the first play of Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles, Rackley got rolled up on and went down in a heap. It looked like a serious injury for a player that missed all of 2012 with a high-ankle sprain. Rackley is week to week, yet hopeful he'll be able to play Week 1. His backup is Mike Brewster.
