Allen (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game.
EDGE Analysis
Robert Golden will likely get the start once more with Allen ruled out .The 25-year-old safety has been quietly impressive (16 tackles in three games) during Allen's absence and he could be an option in IDP formats once again with Cincinnati's high-flying offense set to invade Heinz Field in a critical divisional showdown Sunday.

Allen (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Robert Golden, Allen's replacement since Week 5, has quietly been very efficient, recording 16 tackles (14 solo) in the last three games, so it remains to be seen who might start if Allen does end up suiting up Sunday. That designation, however, is far from a formality given the 33-year-old's gimpy ankle so fantasy owners looking to play either Steelers safety will want to check back in later in the week.

Allen (concussion) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, Steelers.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
That's good news for Allen, who was being evaluated for a concussion after last Thursday's game against the Patriots. If everything stays the same, he should be in line to get the start against the dynamic 49ers' rushing attack this Sunday.

Allen had a team-high eight tackles (all solo), including a sack in the Steelers' 28-21 loss to New England.
EDGE Analysis
The sack was a career first for the 12-year veteran, who was one of the few bright spots of the Steelers' defense, which made critical mistakes all game and failed to record a turnover.
