Cruz practiced for the second straight day Wednesday and looks ready to play in Saturday's game against the Jets, SNY reports. "Victor looked great," Giants offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan said. "He has had two strong days, got a lot of balls thrown to him. I'm excited about where he is, and hopefully he will have his opportunity against the Jets."
EDGE Analysis
It's encouraging Cruz bounced back from his work in Tuesday's practice without a setback. If he's able to play well in Saturday's preseason game, he's got a good chance to begin the year as one of the Giants' top three receivers.

Cruz (groin) practiced in full for the first time this summer, showing quickness and burst, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz beat some reserve cornerbacks off the line and took short passes for long gains during the drills. If his body responds well, he'll have a chance to play in the team's third preseason game against the Jets Saturday. Cruz has some upside as a second or third receiver, but if he has any setbacks he could also be cut.

Cruz (groin) will be a full participant at Tuesday's practice, according to coach Ben McAdoo.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz has been plagued by devastating injuries over the past couple years, resulting in questions regarding his roster spot heading into the regular season. He'll need a clean bill of health moving forward in order to remain a Giant, but the fact he's practicing in full capacity Tuesday is a good sign at this point. His status for Saturday's preseason game against the Jets isn't locked in yet, so an update should become available later in the week regarding his ongoing groin issue.

Cruz's (groin) roster spot with the Giants may ultimately be influenced by his practice and game availability this week, ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz hasn't played in a game in almost two years due to injury and has been hampered in practice recently by a lingering groin issue. Although he's made progress in participating in pregame workouts before Saturday's exhibition versus the Bills, Cruz may need to build on that with more consistent and complete involvement this week, and then finally be able to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Jets. If Cruz is unable to prove he can return to health, his roster spot may come under jeopardy, especially with younger players vying for more opportunities going forward.

Cruz's groin injury is "no longer an annoyance", the New York Post reports. Subsequently, head coach Ben McAdoo stated Cruz will take part in Monday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz's level of participation has been irregular of late, but it should normalize now that he is free from the lingering groin injury. During the Giants' preseason game on Saturday, Cruz dressed but did not take part in any capacity. However, Cruz said he hope's to play in the team's third preseason contest on Saturday, but that just may not be a realistic option for the Giants given all the trouble that has taken shape in his attempt to return to action.

Cruz (groin) won't suit up for Saturday's preseason game at Buffalo, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Cruz stepped on the field for warmups, he didn't run routes or fit in any other activity of note. He'll thus remain on the sideline while he tends to a groin injury, thereby allowing Sterling Shepard further opportunity to lock down the starting gig opposite Odell Beckham.

Head coach Ben McAdoo told Ralph Vacchiano of SNY on Thursday that he "wouldn't be surprised" if Cruz (groin) participates in a "speed practice" Friday or Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz's practice participation has been sporadic of late due to a lingering groin strain, yet another in a litany of injury concerns since his last NFL game in October of 2014. In any case, the Giants are unlikely to hold a full practice Friday with a preseason contest just one day later, so the "speed" session referenced by McAdoo may mimic a walkthrough. With the uncertainty surrounding Cruz's next appearance in drills, game action is likely out of the question Saturday, thereby giving rookie wideout Sterling Shepard another opportunity to cement a starting role opposite Odell Beckham.

Cruz (groin) did not practice Wednesday, NJ.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Cruz now having missed three of the Giants' last five practices due to what is being described as a groin strain, he doesn't seem likely to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Bills. The veteran wideout hasn't played in game since October of 2014 and remains a speculative fantasy play as the regular season quickly approaches.

Cruz (groin) is hoped to increase his practice workload Wednesday, ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz's groin problem has limited him to individual work on the side of practice lately, but coach Ben McAdoo hopes he can up his involvement as this week unfolds. Whether Cruz's body will permit such progress remains to be seen, but it's at least encouraging that he seems to be trending in the right direction again. Nonetheless, Cruz has proven to be a delicate commodity lately, so a wait-and-see approach is probably best with him for now.

Cruz (groin) is working on the side with the Giants' training staff instead of practicing with the team Monday, The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz continues to be limited by his groin injury, which has kept him out of team drills and left him to go through individual work with the Giants' trainers the past couple days. With Monday's practice expected to be a fully-padded session, it's not exactly surprising that Cruz isn't being thrown into the fray with a lingering injury, but it's still somewhat concerning that his preparation has been stalled once again. With the Giants' next preseason game not until Saturday, expect Cruz's status to be updated throughout the week.
