Eligwe was waived by the Raiders on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Eligwe decided to opt out of the 2020 campaign, and the team has elected to part ways with the linebacker now that the season is over. He'll search for a new squad following this latest transaction, though he hasn't taken the field in an NFL game since 2018.

Eligwe elected to opt out of the 2020 season Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old didn't suit up for any regular-season action in 2019 for the Raiders even though he signed with the club in December. Eligwe's most recent regular-season action came in 2018 as a member of the Giants, where he compiled seven tackles (four solo) across 10 games, and he was expected to battle for a reserve role in 2020.

Eligwe signed with Oakland on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Eligwe's role with the Raiders over the season's final two games remains unclear, but don't expect the 25-year-old linebacker to alter fantasy fortunes all that much. Eligwe last played in 2018, as a member of the Giants, where he compiled seven tackles (four solo) across 10 games. If Kyle Wilber (ankle) can't go Sunday, look for Eligwe to absorb some defensive snaps in his place.

Eligwe replaces D'Andre Walker (groin) on the active roster. The Georgia Southern product has seen action in 24 games in two NFL seasons.

Eligwe was waived by the Giants on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Eligwe played 10 games for New York last year, collecting seven tackles in his first season with the Giants. He'll hit the free agent market in search for a third team in three years after playing as a rookie in 2017 with the Chiefs.

Eligwe was added to the Giants' active roster Tuesday, Michael Eisen of Giants.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants added Eligwe to the active roster to add depth at the linebacker position after they placed fellow linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday. The former fifth-round pick spent the first six weeks of 2018 on the Giants' practice squad and appeared in 14 games last season for Kansas City, recording five tackles (five solo) and one sack.

Eligwe (foot) totaled three tackles (all solo) while playing 24 defensive and five special teams snaps in Friday's preseason game against the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Eligwe is taking aim at a 53-man roster spot as a reserve at middle linebacker again after appearing in 14 games in that role last season. The second-year linebacker likely sits in good position to do so, assuming his foot issue is behind him.

Eligwe did not participate in Monday's practice due to a foot strain, Matt McMullen of Chiefs.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eligwe's foot injury doesn't appear to be too serious, but the Chiefs elected to keep the second-year linebacker sidelined Monday. Eligwe may struggle to make the 53-man roster if he's out for an extended period of time, however, while Dorian O'Daniel and Terrance Smith figure to see additional reps at inside linebacker in the meantime.

The Chiefs selected Eligwe in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, 183rd overall.
EDGE Analysis
Eligwe fills a definite need for the Chiefs with veteran Derrick Johnson coming off his second Achilles injury. He started his career at Florida State and was a member of the Seminoles' national championship team, but finished his career at Georgia Southern after being dismissed from FSU. He was a standout player while at Georgia Southern and was able to resurrect his draft stock. He'll likely start out as a special teamer, but his tape from Georgia Southern shows that Eligwe has the potential to develop into a linebacker in the NFL.
