The Ravens are signing Huntley to the practice squad Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Huntley was cut by Cleveland on Sunday and now returns to a familiar situation as an emergency quarterback for the Ravens, for whom he handled a depth role from 2020-2023. Cooper Rush has operated as the top backup to Lamar Jackson throughout the offseason, but Huntley competing for that role as the season progresses wouldn't be inconceivable.

Huntley was released by Cleveland on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Huntley is the odd man out in the Browns' crowded QB room. The 27-year-old backup landed with Cleveland in early August as the team sorted through its options at signal-callers this preseason, joining at a time when both Kenny Pickett (hamstring) and third-round pick Dillon Gabriel were sidelined by injuries. Huntley then filled in as the backup quarterback during two preseason games -- once behind Gabriel and once more behind fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders. Joe Flacco since has been named Cleveland's starting QB, and, while the No. 2 quarterback spot still is up in the air, this job likely will go to either Pickett or Gabriel. Huntley has extensive experience as a backup quarterback who's filled in for injured starters over the past few years, including his time in Baltimore from 2021-2023 and in Miami last season. He'll look to catch on in a similar role elsewhere ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Huntley completed 10-of-13 passes for 71 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
For the second straight preseason game, Huntley backed up one of the Browns' rookie quarterbacks. Last week against Carolina, he entered following Shedeur Sanders (oblique), and then on Saturday, Huntley played the second half after rookie Dillon Gabriel, who overcome a hamstring injury during the week to start. That's all one needs to know regarding Huntley's chances of claiming a roster spot. Injuries have shaped Cleveland's quarterback competition this summer, but conventional wisdom suggests Joe Flacco, who is not injured, will start Week 1 of the regular season with Kenny Pickett (hamstring) the main backup and Gabriel or Sanders the third QB in the room.

Huntley could be the starting quarterback in Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles, Noah Monroe of the Browns' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Browns are dealing with several injuries in the quarterback room, with only Huntley and Joe Flacco deemed 100 percent. "We'll work through all (the injuries). Obviously, (Huntley) knows exactly what to do, how to do it, so is ready to roll," Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said Thursday. Flacco, the presumptive Week 1 starter, was ruled out from playing by the coach. Shedeur Sanders (oblique) didn't practice this week and is not expected to play. That leaves Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) and Kenny Pickett (hamstring), both of whom practiced this week, albeit in limited fashion.

Huntley is expected to back up Shedeur Sanders in the first preseason game against Carolina on Friday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Huntley signed with Cleveland on Monday and is now expected to play in their preseason opener just four days later. Along with Shedeur Sanders, he is the only available quarterback with Kenny Pickett (hamstring), Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) and Joe Flacco (resting) not playing. The 27-year-old journeyman is now on his fifth team after spending last year in Miami, where he started five games.

Huntley signed with the Browns on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The signing comes as Kenny Pickett (hamstring), Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) and Shedeur Sanders (shoulder) are all dealing with injuries, per Schefter. In 2024, Huntley spent time with the Browns and appeared in five games with the Dolphins, recording 829 passing yards and three touchdowns with three interceptions. The quarterback would likely need a long-term injury to one or more of the Browns' current QBs to have a chance to stick with the team, as Joe Flacco appears to be the leader in the clubhouse for the starting role, and Gabriel and Sanders were both selected by Cleveland in the 2025 Draft.

Huntley completed 25 of 41 pass attempts for 227 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while rushing thrice for 16 yards with one fumble lost in Sunday's 32-20 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Huntley failed to repeat last week's heroic spot-start (277 total yards with two TDs) that helped keep Miami's bleak playoff hopes alive. The veteran backup was actually charged with four fumbles (with only one costing his team possession) to finish with three combined turnovers to just one touchdown thrown. Huntley will finish the 2024 campaign with 829 passing yards on a 65 percent completion rate while tossing three scores to three picks. The 26-year-old will likely earn himself another backup gig in 2025 after reliable results on a one-year deal with the Dolphins.

With Tua Tagovailoa (hip) inactive, Huntley is slated to start Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
While filling in for Tagovailoa in Miami's 20-3 win over the Browns in Week 17, Huntley completed 22 of his 26 pass attempts for 225 yards and a touchdown in addition to rushing seven times for 52 yards and another score. With Tagovailoa sidelined once again, Huntley will continue to helm the offense of the 8-8 Dolphins, who need a win (combined with a Denver loss) in order to qualify for a playoff spot. With that in mind, Huntley offers a lineup option for fantasy managers dealing with QB injuries or signal-callers resting in Week 18.

Head coach Mike McDaniel noted Friday that it's unlikely Huntley's fellow QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip) will see any action in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
As a result, the Dolphins are preparing as though Huntley will start at QB for the team on Sunday. While filling in for Tagovailoa in Week 17, Huntley completed 22 of his 26 pass attempts for 225 yards and a touchdown while rushing seven times for 52 yards and another score in Miami's 20-3 win over the Browns. The 8-8 Dolphins need to secure a win (combined with a Denver loss) in their 4:25 p.m. ET contest in order to have a chance to qualify for a playoff spot.

Head coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that the Dolphins are preparing as though Huntley will start Sunday against the Jets rather than Tua Tagovailoa (hip), Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wolfe notes that Tagovailoa is slated to be a limited participant in practice Wednesday, and a decision on Miami's starting quarterback for Sunday likely won't be made until the end of the week. That said, Huntley looks to be trending toward another start, on the heels of helming the Dolphins' 20-3 win over the Browns this past weekend. He turned in perhaps the finest performance of his five-year career in Week 17, completing 22 of 26 pass attempts for 225 yards, one touchdown and no interception while adding 52 yards and another score on seven carries.
