Presumably past the injury he sustained in Week 18 against the Commanders, Coyle will have his work cut out for him as he looks to stick with the main roster. The Cowboys' safety room is dominated by the trio of Donovan Wilson, Malik Hooker and Jayron Kearse. The report notes that Coyle's biggest competition for a final roster spot will be against Markquese Bell.

Coyle was signed to a reserve/future deal with the Cowboys on Monday.

Coyle spent the majority of the season on the Cowboys' practice squad. He did however get a shot with the active roster in Week 13 against the Saints and Week 18 against the Eagles. Between the two contests, Coyle secured two tackles (one solo). He'll now look to carve out a bigger role for himself next season.
