Pope suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's game against the Eagles and is questionable to return, Sheil Kapadia of ESPN.com reports.

Pope got a chance to see some action Sunday after fellow running back C.J. Prosise exited the game with a shoulder injury, but he wound up suffering a setback of his own. The injures to Pope and Prosise leave Thomas Rawls as the Seahawks' only healthy running back for the rest of Sunday's game.

Pope was promoted to the Seahawks' active roster Tuesday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.

Pope was added to the roster as running back Christine Michael was released. It will be tough for Pope to see the field however, as he will likely sit behind C.J. Prosise, Thomas Rawls and Alex Collins on Seattle's running back depth chart.

The Jets added Knile Davis to their backfield on Tuesday, leaving Pope as the odd-man-out. The 22-year-old played in only one game for the Jets, getting the ball once for a gain of one yard. He'll now look to find a spot on another roster in need of running back depth.

Prior to his release, Pope led Seattle with 162 rushing yards during preseason play. Despite the Seahawks' interest in keeping the Jacksonville State product on the team's practice squad, the Jets were able to snag the rookie before he could clear waivers. Given the Jets' depth at running back, Pope figures to make his biggest impact on special teams.

Pope rushed eight times for 52 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason finale in yet another impressive performance.

Pope is on the roster bubble, but he has seemingly outperformed fifth-round pick Alex Collins, who also had a good game Thursday. Collins could get the nod, though, if the team thinks the undrafted Pope would be easier to pass through waivers and place on the practice squad.

Pope, who is fighting for the last running back job, didn't get many opportunities in Thursday's third preseason game, rushing four times for 14 yards.

Pope turned heads the previous week with a great game, but didn't play many snaps Thursday. The good news for him is Alex Collins didn't do much either. Pope likely will get more snaps in next week's preseason game.

Pope is buried on the depth chart, but he definitely turned heads. He ran tough between the tackles and showed a good burst. Pope was named the FCS Running Back of the Year last season, leading Jacksonville State to the FCS title game. He rushed for 1,788 yards, averaging an FCS-leading 8.2 yards per carry. The Seahawks likely will keep four running backs. Alex Collins, who is expected to win that job, has not impressed thus far, opening the door for Pope.
