The Bears have invited free agent DT Trey Lewis to their upcoming rookie camp. At one point a promising nose-tackle prospect out of D-II Washburn, Lewis has flamed out of the NFL due to persistent knee injuries and an inability to push the pocket. He was one of new Bears GM Phil Emery's 2007 draft picks in Atlanta.

That's 14 players, if you're keeping score at home; each team must shed 27 to get down to 53 by Saturday's deadline. The Falcons also gave WR Andy Strickland an injury settlement. Lewis was once a favorite inside the organization, but he hasn't been the same since an early-career knee injury. At 6'3/316 and 26 years old, Lewis could get some interest on waivers.
