Mason (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason has carried an ankle injury into a third consecutive week, though his ability to practice Wednesday indicates that he should be good to go for a second straight game. He earned his most touches of the season during Sunday's handling of the 49ers, turning 15 carries into 46 yards and his sole target into six yards, but the presence of rookie sensation Todd Gurley caps Mason's upside.

Mason ran for 46 yards on 15 carries in Sunday's win over the 49ers. He added a six-yard reception during the game.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday set season-high marks in touches and yards for Mason. With the team riding with rookie Todd Gurley, Mason may not see too many such performances moving forward. All but three of Mason's touches came in the first two and a half quarters, with the second-year back essentially coming in to put the game away and keep Gurley healthy. Unless the Rams have a string of blowouts in their future, don't expect Mason's Sunday workload to repeat itself.

Mason (ankle) is active Sunday against San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
Mason missed the first two practices of the week, but was able to return and log a full practice Friday. Even though he's active, the St. Louis rushing attack is expected to be dominated by rookie sensation Todd Gurley, leaving Mason with limited upside.

Mason (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
EDGE Analysis
Mason is officially listed as questionable, but he was able to practice fully Friday, clearing the way for his return. However, with the way Todd Gurley has played in recent weeks, it seems unlikely Mason will get enough touches to make a legitimate fantasy impact.

Mason (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.
EDGE Analysis
Even if he's able to return, Mason will likely be used sparingly behind workhorse Todd Gurley. If anything, Mason's return would just take a few touches and snaps away from Benny Cunningham.

Mason (ankle) didn't take part in practice Wednesday, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
For the second week in a row, Mason is commencing drills as a spectator rather than a participant, but Todd Gurley superseded him long ago as the top RB in St. Louis. As the week goes on, Mason has two more chances to practice and potentially serve as Gurley's primary backup in the backfield.

Mason (ankle) is inactive Sunday against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Mason did not practice all week, and had been given a questionable tag leading up to the afternoon contest. With Mason out of action, look for Todd Gurley to see the bulk of the offensive snaps Sunday, with Benny Cunningham also around to serve in a backup role. Trey Watts was also brought up from the practice squad this week, another sign that the team was preparing for Mason to be inactive.

Mason's (ankle) teammate Trey Watts was promoted to the active roster Friday, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason didn't practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. Friday's transaction suggests Mason is unlikely to play, and even if he suits up, he's unlikely to see more than a handful of touches behind Todd Gurley.

Mason (ankle) did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
With just four carries over the last two games, Mason has quickly been reduced to handcuff status behind Todd Gurley. If Mason can't play, Benny Cunningham could get a few more touches against a lousy Cleveland run defense.

Mason (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Todd Gurley's presence has soaked up any value accrued by Mason last season, holding him to 20 carries for 49 yards and three catches (on six targets) for 19 yards in 2015. When Gurley ripped off back-to-back 100-yard performances heading into the Rams' Week 6 bye, Mason earned only seven snaps. There's a chance that number could increase slightly in order to save Gurley for the long haul, but Mason doesn't hold much sway at the moment, especially when he's logging DNPs in practice.
