Cadet caught three passes on seven targets for 14 yards, including a two-yard touchdown reception, in Sunday's season opening loss to the Raiders. He played 26 of the Saints' 69 offensive snaps (38%), according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
EDGE Analysis
With C.J. Spiller a healthy inactive in Week 1, Cadet unexpectedly saw significant playing time in the opener. In fact, he largely out-snapped Mark Ingram's presumed backup, Tim Hightower, 26-10 and was on the field for only three fewer plays than Ingram himself. The Saints clearly trust Cadet as a receiver out of the backfield -- as evidenced by his fourth-quarter touchdown -- and with Ingram's checkered injury history, the team may continue to use Cadet as a third-down back to keep Ingram fresh. Although the reasons behind Spiller's Week 1 benching are unknown, Cadet may be worth an add in deeper fantasy leagues, particularly those using PPR scoring.

The Saints re-signed Cadet on Monday, Larry Holder of The Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Along with the Saints, Cadet played for the Patriots and 49ers last season. He re-signed with New Orleans in March only to be released as the team made its final cuts over the weekend. However, the team opted to re-sign him on Monday, and he will likely add running back depth and play a special teams role heading into the season.

Cadet was released by the Saints on Saturday, Larry Holder of The Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cadet was in competition with Marcus Murphy and Daniel Lasco for the final running back spots in New Orleans. Cadet played with the starting offense in the team's final preseason game, but recorded just 42 yards on 24 carries, a poor performance that may have been a factor in his release.

Cadet gained 24 yards on four carries and 42 yards on four receptions (five targets) in Friday's preseason game against the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Cadet was surprisingly involved with the first-team offense, even though Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller were also busy. The Saints featured their running backs in Friday's gameplan, and while Cadet made the most of his touches, he did nearly lose a fumble at the end of a long gain. He won't surpass Spiller as the top passing-down back, but Cadet's roster odds did improve Friday when Marcus Murphy suffered a concussion, NOLA.com reports. Cadet and Murphy are competing for the No. 4 running back job -- a role that might include work in the return game and occasional offensive snaps on passing downs.

Cadet caught one pass for nine yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Cadet is in a tight battle for a roster spot and is currently not projected to make the Saints' final 53-man roster, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Marcus Murphy's recent struggles with fumbles may open the door for Cadet, but without a clear path to playing time on a crowded Saints' depth chart, Cadet should only be viewed as an option in very deep PPR leagues.

Cadet gained 14 yards on three carries and seven yards on one reception (one target) in Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Mostly a passing-down specialist, Cadet is competing with Marcus Murphy and Daniel Lasco for what will likely be one roster spot. Mark Ingram, Tim Hightower and C.J. Spiller appear figure to occupy the top three spots.

Cadet has agreed to a one-year deal with the Saints, ESPN's Mike Triplett reports.
EDGE Analysis
A passing-down specialist, Cadet was released by the Patriots and 49ers during the 2015 season, eventually landing back in New Orleans where he spent the first three seasons of his career. He may compete for a third-down role, but he's unlikely to be a featured part of the Saints offense.

In two games with the Saints, Cadet gained 12 yards on four carries and added nine receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
After suffering a rash of injuries to end the season, the Saints re-signed Cadet, who had appeared in games with both the Patriots and 49ers this season. Cadet had spent the first three seasons of his career with the Saints, before signing in New England this offseason. While he's not much of a runner, Cadet's chops as a pass-catching threat quickly re-surfaced in his two games back with the Saints. It remains to be seen, however, whether Cadet will be back with the Saints in 2016, as he is once again a free agent this offseason.

Cadet caught three of five targets for 69 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown, in Sunday's 37-28 win over the Jaguars. He had just one carry for six yards.
EDGE Analysis
Cadet was claimed off waivers during the week, returning to his former team, and made an impact in Sunday's win. Meanwhile, Tim Hightower continued to amaze, rushing for 122 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns. With C.J. Spiller a healthy scratch Sunday, expect Cadet to serve as the pass-catching back in the season finale next week at Atlanta.
