Cadet caught three passes on seven targets for 14 yards, including a two-yard touchdown reception, in Sunday's season opening loss to the Raiders. He played 26 of the Saints' 69 offensive snaps (38%), according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
EDGE Analysis
With C.J. Spiller a healthy inactive in Week 1, Cadet unexpectedly saw significant playing time in the opener. In fact, he largely out-snapped Mark Ingram's presumed backup, Tim Hightower, 26-10 and was on the field for only three fewer plays than Ingram himself. The Saints clearly trust Cadet as a receiver out of the backfield -- as evidenced by his fourth-quarter touchdown -- and with Ingram's checkered injury history, the team may continue to use Cadet as a third-down back to keep Ingram fresh. Although the reasons behind Spiller's Week 1 benching are unknown, Cadet may be worth an add in deeper fantasy leagues, particularly those using PPR scoring.
