McSorley has been named Arizona's starting quarterback for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury made the announcement Wednesday after ruling out Colt McCoy, who suffered a concussion during Sunday's 24-15 loss to Denver in his first start since Kyler Murray suffered a season-ending ACL tear. McSorley completed seven of 15 passes for 95 yards and two interceptions in relief, and with that fresh in mind it's possible he could be benched for recently signed David Blough if he struggles again this Sunday. McSorley had only one carry for eight yards last week, but he offers potential for rushing stats given that he ran a 4.57-second 40-yard dash time coming out of Penn State in 2019. He accrued 30 rushing touchdowns during his time at college, and his dual-threat abilities were a key factor in the Ravens selecting him with a sixth-round pick in 2019 to serve as a backup to Lamar Jackson.

McSorley completed seven of 15 passes for 95 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 24-15 loss to the Broncos. He added one rush for eight yards.
EDGE Analysis
McSorley entered the game three plays into the second half after Colt McCoy was forced to the sidelines due to a head injury. He completed a few long completions of 29 and 18 yards but still managed only 6.3 yards per attempt. To make matters worse, McSorley also threw two interceptions, the latter of which led directly to Denver's game-clinching touchdown. If McCoy can't clear concussion protocol in time for a Week 16 matchup against the Buccaneers, McSorley will likely be called upon to start.

McSorely (illness) was not listed on the Cardinals' injury report Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
McSorley popped up with an illness during Arizona's final practice Week 12, leaving him inactive against the Chargers. However, he appears to have gotten over this ailment during the Cardinals' bye Week 13. As a result, McSorley should reprise his role as the team's third-string quarterback against New England on Monday Night Football.

McSorley (illness) is inactive Sunday against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
McSorley missed practice Friday due to the illness, and he's still apparently feeling under the weather. However, with Kyler Murray back under center and Colt McCoy still considered the team's No. 2 quarterback, McSorley's absence should not impact the team Week 12.

McSorley did not practice Friday due to an illness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
McSorley was a full participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday before popping up on Friday's injury report. While the severity of this ailment is still unclear, the 27-year-old will have just one more day to overcome this issue before Sunday's contest. McSorley went 6-for-10 passing for 59 yards and an interception after stepping in for Colt McCoy during Monday's loss to San Francisco. However, both signal-callers figure to fall back into their normal backup roles Week 12, as starting quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to return after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.

Arizona signed McSorley off its practice squad Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
In a corresponding move, the team placed Colt McCoy (calf) on injured reserve, meaning that he'll miss at least four games. As a result, McSorley is slated to back up Kyler Murray early on this season.

The Cardinals signed McSorley to their practice squad Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, McSorley returns to the organization after clearing waivers. The Penn State product will operate as an emergency depth option behind Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy.

McSorley was waived by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
McSorley will fail to make the final roster for the second season in a row, with the Cardinals opting to keep Colt McCoy and Jarrett Guarantano as backup options for Kyler Murray. Per Rapoport, the quarterback is expected to join Arizona's practice squad as long as he clears waivers.

McSorley completed 13 of 22 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown while adding 32 rushing yards on four carries in Friday's preseason game against the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
With neither Kyler Murray (wrist) nor Colt McCoy in the lineup, McSorley played the entire first half for the Cardinals and led his club to four scoring drives, capping the first with a four-yard TD strike to depth wideout Andre Baccellia (ankle). McSorley is competing with undrafted rookie Jarrett Guarantano for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart, and the former Raven likely has a leg up in the battle after this performance.

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday that McSorley will start Friday's preseason contest against Cincinnati, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Starting quarterback Kyler Murray was sidelined for a part of training camp due to a positive COVID-19 test and is now dealing with a sore wrist, which has limited his participation in practice. However, the decision to start McSorley likely has nothing to do with Murray's availability, as backup quarterback Colt McCoy is also not expected to play, leaving McSorley and Jarrett Guarantano to compete for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart during the preseason opener.
