The Lions waived Lelito (thigh) from injured reserve Tuesday, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lelito landed on IR after suffering the thigh injury a little over a week ago. The injury was never considered a season-ending one for the offensive lineman, so once he's fully recovered from the issue, he could latch on with another team.

The Lions placed Lelito (thigh) on injured reserve Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Lelito sustained the injury during Sunday's loss to the Steelers, the specifics of which are still unknown. The Lions apparently feel good about their current offensive line depth, as the 28-year-old was replaced on the 53-man roster by defensive end Jacquies Smith.

Lelito sustained a thigh injury during Sunday's loss to the Steelers, Michael Rothstein of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The specifics of Lelito's injury aren't clear. His potential absence moving forward would further thin out the Lions' dwindling depth along the offensive line.

The Lions signed Lelito to a contract Tuesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lelito will take the roster spot of guard/tackle Joe Dahl (lower leg), who was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. The Grand Valley State product is capable of playing both guard and center, so he could settle in as the Lions' top backup at both positions now that Dahl is out of the picture.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune expects second-year pro Tim Lelito to be the Saints' starting center despite the signing of Jonathan Goodwin. Columnist and former beat writer Jeff Duncan believes Goodwin "looks more like insurance than viable competition." Lelito's lone two rookie starts came at right guard, so the Saints would be placing a ton of faith in a neophyte snapper.

Coach Sean Payton confirmed Tim Lelito will have a chance to win the starting center job. Brian de la Puente, the Saints' starter for the last three seasons, remains an unsigned free agent. If he ends up signing elsewhere, Lelito is the in-house replacement option. The 2013 UDFA made two starts at right guard as a rookie, handling himself well.
