Texans DE Tim Jamison (Achilles') is "really, basically, almost cleared." Jamison, 27, tore his Achilles' in Week 6 last season. The top reserve behind LE J.J. Watt and RE Antonio Smith, Jamison had three tackles and a sack in his six games of action. He "could be" ready for the start of training camp.

Texans DE Tim Jamison has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles' tendon, and is done for the season. Jamison went down in a heap in Sunday night's loss, so the news isn't a surprise. Jamison is a reserve, but was signed to a two-year extension in September, and perhaps being groomed as a future starter. He'll finish 2012 with one tackle and three sacks. It's not a guarantee he'll be ready for next summer's camp, but that should be the case.
