Falcons signed CB Terrence Johnson. The Falcons need the depth at cornerback after losing franchise player Brent Grimes to a torn Achilles' tendon. Johnson operated as the Colts' primary slot cornerback for the majority of last season.

Colts placed CB Terrence Johnson (forearm) on injured reserve, ending his season. Indy's primary slot cornerback for most of the season, Johnson was replaced in the lineup by rookie Chris Rucker against the Patriots. Johnson and CB Jerraud Powers' year-ending injuries will give the Colts ample time to evaluate youngsters Rucker and Kevin Thomas during the season's final four games.

According to the Indianapolis Star, there is "every chance" that Terrence Johnson will replace LCB Jacob Lacey in the base defense this week. After taking over nickelback duties from Justin Tryon, Johnson played 62 snaps inside and at left cornerback in Week 3. "As of (Thursday), it looks like I'm probably the starter," Johnson said. "We'll see how it shakes out by game time."
