Giants RCB Terrell Thomas did not undergo an exploratory scope on his ailing right knee, and will attempt to heal through rehab.
Thomas is returning to Giants camp, but is without a timetable for a return to practice. According to coach Tom Coughlin, Thomas is in "no pain," and feels "very positive." It's extremely good news, but Thomas has a long way to go before proving he's healthy, and is unlikely to be ready for Week 1. The odds of a setback with Thomas' twice surgically-repaired right knee are high. Prince Amukamara should open the year as a starter opposite Corey Webster.

Updating a previous items, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that doctors who've examined Giants RCB Terrell Thomas do NOT believe Thomas' ACL is torn and are optimistic he will play football this season.
Numerous previous reports -- including one from ESPN -- indicated that Thomas' ACL was at least partially torn and would require surgery. So this latest news is a huge breath of fresh air for the Giants' organization. Per Schefter, Thomas will go down to Pensacola on Tuesday for an examination from Dr. James Andrews. But signs now point to Thomas avoiding his third career ACL tear, which would have been a year-ending and career-threatening injury.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed on SportsCenter Tuesday that Giants RCB Terrell Thomas (ACL) is likely to miss all of 2012.
"It looks like he's going to need surgery," Schefter said. "It looks like he's going to be out for the year." This is the third ACL tear of Thomas' career, as he suffered the injury once at USC and twice more in the pros. It's believed no player has ever returned successfully from three ACL reconstructions, although linebacker Thomas Davis is currently trying to do so in Carolina.

Giants RCB Terrell Thomas (knee) is believed to "at the very least" have a partial tear of his right ACL.
The full extent of the injury will be known after Thomas undergoes exploratory surgery, but it's a good bet the Giants are bracing for Thomas' second torn right ACL in as many years. Prince Amukamara better be ready to run with the first team.

Giants CB Terrell Thomas (ACL surgery) announced on his personal blog that he has "no limitations" entering training camp.
Thomas said he was 100 percent healthy back in May, so this is hardly a surprise. He'll be monitored closely by the trainers throughout camp, but it appears he's ready to step back into the starting lineup opposite Corey Webster. In his initial 2012 rankings, Rotoworld's Jeff Ratcliffe ranks him seventh among cornerbacks.

Giants CB Terrell Thomas (ACL surgery) says he's 100 percent healthy.
Thomas had yet to resume sprinting as of early March, but has apparently taken the final rehab steps in the two months since. The G-Men wouldn't have guaranteed Thomas $11 million if they didn't believe he was close to 100 percent. Provided he stays that way, Thomas will start opposite Corey Webster.
