Ginn caught four of five passes for 54 yards in Monday night's loss to the Vikings. He also gained five yards on one carry.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn's Saints debut was solid albeit unspectacular, even with Willie Snead serving the first a three-game suspension. With Snead sidelined for another two games, Ginn could see an uptick in production, but Drew Brees' penchant for spreading the ball around -- he connected with seven different receivers on Monday -- makes Ginn a risky starting option in most settings, especially given the former Panthers' boom-or-bust tendencies.

Ginn brought in three of four receptions for 26 yards in Saturday's 13-0 preseason win over the Texans. He also returned two punts for 16 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn was one of the busiest of the Saints pass catchers and also logged his customary special teams duty as a punt returner. The veteran speedster is slated for what should be a starting role in the Saints' pass-happy offense, which should afford him a solid chance of besting the 54-receptions and 752 yards he generated over 16 games with the Panthers last season.

Ginn practiced in full Wednesday, after sitting out drills in advance of Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers, Herbie Teope of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
No injury was ever associated with Ginn's absence from practice and ultimately the Saints' most-recent exhibition, so rest may have been prescribed for the veteran wideout/returner. While he was signed to serve as a poor man's Brandin Cooks, Michael Thomas and Willie Snead will almost certainly be options A and B in the mind of Drew Brees, especially since Ginn has topped out at 49 yards per game in any of his 10 campaigns.

Ginn is listed as a starter, ahead of both Willie Snead and Brandon Coleman, on the Saints' unofficial preseason depth chart, ESPN's Mike Triplett reports.
EDGE Analysis
Healthy throughout the offseason program and first two weeks of training camp, Ginn seems to be making a good impression with his new team. It's quite possible he plays ahead of Snead in two-wide formations, as the third-year wideout almost exclusively lined up in the slot last year. Snead will still get plenty of snaps and is a clear favorite to finish second on the team in targets, but Ginn could make the split closer than expected.

Head coach Sean Payton said he has a clear vision for how the team will use Ginn, the Saints' official website reports. "I see [Ginn] playing at flanker," said Payton. "I see him being a guy that can take the top off the coverage. I like what this guy does."
EDGE Analysis
It sounds as if Ginn will have a spot on the outside across from Michael Thomas in three-wide formations, with Willie Snead manning the slot. The plan could change if the Saints use a high draft pick on a receiver, but the team is expected to go defense-heavy in the early rounds. In addition to his key role in the offense, Ginn likely will be in the mix for punt and/or kickoff return duties, which is how he provided much of his value earlier in his career. Although he'll celebrate his 32nd birthday prior to the 2017 draft, Ginn is still one of the fastest receivers in the league, and he's become more of a threat on offense in the latter stage of his career.

Ginn will help replace Brandin Cooks as a downfield threat alongside Michael Thomas and Willie Snead, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Saints actually signed Ginn before they traded Cooks, but it's hard to argue the two moves weren't related. The soon-to-be 32-year-old Ginn can't be considered a direct replacement for the team's 2016 receiving yardage leader, but he can help to stretch opposing defenses the way Cooks so often did. Coming off back-to-back seasons in Carolina with more than 700 receiving yards, Ginn signed a three-year, $11 million contract with New Orleans -- making him the clear favorite for the No. 3 receiver role. The 2016 New Orleans offense produced three wideouts with 72 or more catches and 895 or more yards, with Willie Snead bringing up the rear in both categories among the trio. Snead and Michael Thomas figure to take on some of Cooks' vacated targets, but Ginn could also play a big role in replacing the speedy young wideout.

Ginn signed with the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Ginn found a new home within the NFC South, after spending three of the past four seasons in Carolina. He'll likely serve as a return specialist and deep threat for the Saints, with his presence potentially making it easier to stomach a trade sending Brandin Cooks out of town. Cooks has been the subject of trade rumors the past few weeks, as the Saints badly need to improve on defense and already have two other talented young wideouts in Michael Thomas and Willie Snead. Should Cooks ultimately be dealt, Ginn could earn a regular spot in three-wide formations in a potent New Orleans offense.

Ginn is expected to sign with the Saints, ESPN's Dianna Russini‏ reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn bolsters a New Orleans wideout corps that also includes Michael Thomas, Willie Snead and Brandin Cooks, though his signing could potentially foreshadow the possible departure of Cooks via a trade. Ginn, who turns 32 in April, is coming off a 2016 season with the Panthers in which he caught 54 passes (on 95 targets) for 752 yards and four TDs in 16 games.

Ginn secured four of seven targets for 69 yards in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Bucs. He also rushed for 24 yards on two rushes and netted zero yards on one punt return.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn had a touchdown called back and instead settled for a 39-yard gain on a play where his knee was ruled to have come down before he stood back up and continued running downfield. Nevertheless, the speedy veteran checked in second to Kelvin Benjamin in receptions and yardage on the Panthers in the contest, while equaling the latter's team-high seven targets. Despite his reputation as a downfield threat with suspect hands, Ginn turned in a serviceable performance as a No. 2 receiver in 2016, posting the second-best career reception (54) and yardage (752) totals of his career.

Ginn caught three passes (on nine targets) for 29 yards in the Panthers' Week 16 loss to the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn entered the weekend having scored four times in Carolina's past five games. Not only did he fail to find the end zone Saturday, but he also registered under 30 yards for the second time in his last three outings. Although he's been targeted 17 times in the past couple weeks, the Panthers' passing inefficiency makes him a hit-or-miss Week 17 option.
