Ginn caught five of his eight targets to total 74 yards in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn returned to the field for the first time since Week 4 and delivered a number of big plays, while also finishing second on the team in receiving yards and targets. Specifically, he delivered four receptions of 10 yards or more, with his long going for 25. He also saw a season-best eight targets, with only Michael Thomas out-targeting him. Overall, Ginn illustrated that his long absence did not take away from his ability to hit on big plays, making him an intriguing option heading into Week 17 against the Panthers.

Ginn is active for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn, who last suited up for a game in Week 4, is in uniform Sunday, but it's unclear how heavily he'll be utilized after having just returned to practice this past week. He's therefore a risky roll in Week 16 fantasy lineups, but his return will bolster the Saints' wideout corps with the NFL postseason looming.

Ginn (knee) has been activated from injury reserve and will join the 53-man roster, Field Yates of ESPNreports.
EDGE Analysis
As a result, Ginn is eligible to play Sunday against the Steelers, however it's unclear if the Saints will actually utilize their speedy wideout right away or choose to play it safe given they need either a Bears loss or win in either of the next two weeks to clinch either the No.1 or 2 seed in the NFC. Ginn hasn't played since Week 4 thanks to a knee injury, but presents a much-needed element of explosiveness for a Saints' offense that has struggled in recent weeks.

Ginn (knee) resumed practicing Wednesday, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn's return to practice opens a 21-day window for the Saints to either activate him to the 53-man roster or rule him out for the rest of the season. The team already used one of its two IR-return spots on fellow wideout Tommylee Lewis, and there had been some thought guard Josh LeRibeus (ankle) could challenge Ginn for the second designation. With rookie wideout Tre'Quan Smith unable to sustain his mid-season surge, the Saints seem to be leaning toward Ginn over LeRibeus. It's unclear if the speedy 33-year-old has a shot to return for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.

Coach Sean Payton said there's a possibility Ginn (knee) returns from injured reserve this season, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Among Saints players on injured reserve, Ginn and Josh LeRibeus (ankle) appear to be the best bets to be designated to return. Both have impressed Payton with their respective rehabs, but because the Saints have already designated one player (Tommylee Lewis) to come back from IR, they can only do so one more time this season. If Ginn ultimately gets the call and is activated to the 53-man roster, he would bring some stability to a receiving corps that has had little consistency behind Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara.

Coach Sean Payton said Friday that it's realistic for Ginn (knee) to return from injured reserve in the minimum eight weeks, Rod Walker of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
EDGE Analysis
With knee inflammation still troubling Ginn coming out of the bye week, the Saints placed him on injured reserve. The wideout underwent arthroscopic surgery to address the injury the same day, and with the procedure going according to plan, it appears Ginn will have a good shot at returning late in the season. If Ginn's rehab proceeds normally and he's able to resume practicing in early December, he'll be a candidate to return from IR as soon as the team's Week 15 game against the Panthers. While Ginn is sidelined, rookie Tre'Quan Smith appears most likely of the Saints' healthy wideouts to fill the veteran's role as a downfield threat.

The Saints will place Ginn (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The transaction comes after Ginn was inactive for the Saints' Week 5 win over the Redskins with the knee injury before he sat out Wednesday in the team's first practice out of the bye week. The fact that Ginn failed to demonstrate any tangible improvement with his condition after a full week to rest likely weighed heavily into the Saints' decision to shut down the 33-year-old speedster. With Ginn sidelined for at least the next eight weeks by virtue of the IR move, opportunity knocks for Cameron Meredith (knee) and rookie Tre'Quan Smith to seize the No. 2 receiver role behind top wideout Michael Thomas.

Ginn (knee) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn has dealt with a knee injury for most of the season and eventually took a seat Week 5. After having the bye week to heal up, he remains a non-participant. Fellow wideout Cameron Meredith was limited Wednesday by his own knee injury, ensuring uncertainty with the state of the receiving corps. Ginn will have two more chances to make an appearance at practice, or risk yet another absence.

Ginn (knee) didn't participate in the open portion of practice Wednesday, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
It seems the bye week didn't provide quite enough time for Ginn to make a full recovery from the knee injury that held him out in Week 5. Another absence Sunday in Baltimore would free up playing time for Cameron Meredith and Tre'Quan Smith, though it's still possible Ginn makes it back to practice by the end of the week.

The Saints have ruled out Ted Ginn (knee) for Monday's matchup with the Redskins, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ginn has been nursing a knee issue since week 1, but has toughed through it up until now. The Saints have a bye week following this Monday's game, so it looks like he will have extended time to rest and allow the injury to heal. His absence means the Saints could rely even more on Michael Thomas in the passing game, while Cameron Meredith and Tre'Quan Smith should see their workload workload increase as well.
