Hill is working out for the Panthers on Monday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
Though he was unable to establish a role with the Jets this season, Carolina could be a good spot for Hill to get a fresh start, with not much proven depth behind to team's top trio of wideouts, Kelvin Benjamin, Jerricho Cotchery and Jason Avant.

Hill has been released by the Jets.
After he was unable to cement a key role behind top wideout Eric Decker, the Jets decided to move on from Hill, with Jeremy Kerley and David Nelson next up for wideout targets in the team's offense. Hill, the 43rd overall choice in the 2012 NFL Draft, figures to get a fresh start, given that there are plenty of teams looking for wideout help in the wake of Saturday's NFL roster cut-downs.

Unless they are able to trade him, the Jets plan to release Hill, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
The report suggests that the team played Hill in Thursday's preseason finale in order to showcase him, and assuming no change in direction here, the 2012 second-rounder is about to get a fresh start.

Hill (illness), who caught one pass for 14 yards on two targets in Thursday's preseason finale against the Eagles, may not make the final roster, Dayrl Slater of the Star-Ledger reports.
Once expected to seize the starting role across from Eric Decker, Hill is now on the roster bubble, and doesn't figure to have a prominent role even if he makes the team. He dropped one of his two targets in Thursday's game, staying true to form to finish off a poor preseason.

Hill is dealing with an illness, but he has still been able to participate in practice, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Hill does not appear to be dealing with a serious setback, but it remains to be seen if he will play in Thursday's preseason finale. Hill figrues to grab a spot on the Jets' 53-man roster, but it is unlikely that he will open the season with a prominent role in the offense.

Hill caught one pass for 12 yards on four targets in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants.
Expected to compete with David Nelson for a starting spot across from Eric Decker, Hill now seems to be merely fighting for his roster life. Nelson has also failed to impress, and the Jets may want to consider using Jeremy Kerley as something close to an every-down player. Though he has the size-speed combination of a stud No. 1 wide receiver, Hill continues to struggle with drops, among other things.

Hill might not have a roster spot locked up, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.
While this nugget is strictly the speculation of Cimini, he's a long-time Jets beat writer and knows the team as well as any media member. Bottom line, Hill is entering a make-or-break season, his third as a pro, and he's been unimpressive most of the summer. We'll watch him closely in the third preseason game.

Hill is still behind David Nelson on the Jets depth chart, according to the New York Daily News. Hill has run 37 routes in preseason games but has just one reception.
It's a critical year for Hill and so far he hasn't shown much. He'll start the year on the waiver wire, deservedly, in most fantasy leagues.

Hill and David Nelson have not done much to separate from one another in the battle for a starting wideout spot opposite Eric Decker (quad), the New York Daily News reports.
The theme continued Saturday night against the Bengals, as Hill caught one pass for 17 yards, and Nelson caught two for just nine yards. It increasingly looks as if slot man Jeremy Kerley will be more productive than whichever player starts across from Decker. That said, Hill is a 6-4 former first-round draft pick with good speed, so his ceiling is easily higher than Nelson's.

Jets WRs coach Sanjay Lal calls Stephen Hill "healthy and confident" through the first week of camp.
"I think he's believing, and believing in himself - and it's starting to show," Lal said. "It's been the injuries that have hindered (him). ... He's taken the coaching the whole time. Now, he's able to do it physically, so it's just kind of coming together right now." It's notable, because Lal's comments come one month after he said he was "unsure" if Hill would ever break through because of his health. Hill remains a long-shot to make a fantasy impact this season, but the upside is still there. He's someone to monitor.
