The Giants are not expected to re-sign free agents Stacy Andrews and Dave Tollefson before the start of free agency on March 13. Due to the fact that the contract he signed in August was a "minimum salary benefit" deal, Tollefson isn't even allowed to re-sign before the beginning of free agency. Andrews is still recovering from the pulmonary embolism that sent him to injured reserve in December. Both will be viewed as part-time players on the open market.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin revealed at his Monday press conference that G/T Stacy Andrews (pulmonary embolism) is done for the season. It's a scary situation, but Andrews is expected to make a full recovery. One of the Giants' main reserve linemen, Andrews appeared in nine games this season, starting three. Set to become a free agent, Andrews will turn 31 in June. He'll compete for another backup job somewhere next summer.

Giants G/T Stacy Andrews was hospitalized Saturday night with blood clots in his lungs. He was deactivated for Sunday's game against the Packers. Andrews, a backup for the Giants, is being treated for "pulmonary embolisms" that were thought to have originated in his legs. The Giants hope he'll be released on Monday.

Giants signed G/T Stacy Andrews, formerly of the Seahawks. The G-Men have swapped one Andrews brother for another after cutting Shawn last week. Stacy flunked out as Seattle's right guard last season, under-performing for 12 games before losing his job in December. He's headed for a reserve role with the Giants.

Seahawks informed G/T Stacy Andrews of his release. We've learned to not trust Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, who endorsed Andrews after last season. "Stacy is a legitimate factor at right tackle," said Carroll in late March. Seattle proceeded to use its first-round pick on RT James Carpenter, and Andrews was never going to return in the first place with a $5.25 million base salary. He performed miserably last season.
