Moore left Sunday's game against the Texans with an ankle injury, and he is questionable to return, ESPN's Bill Williamson reports. Moore's injury came in the third quarter, with the Raiders already trailing 24-0. The team may thus be inclined to hold him out, though he's initially been deemed questionable. Following a 12-tackle, one-sack performance last week, Moore had six tackles (four solo) at the time of his exit from Sunday's game.

Moore recorded 12 tackles (10 solo) and a sack in last Sunday's loss to the Jets. The 12 tackles established a new single-game career high for Moore, who also forced a fumble in the contest. Moore suffered a concussion and a neck strain late in the preseason but was cleared to practice just four days later. The second-year linebacker should be busy again this week with Arian Foster (ribs) likely to see a heavy workload, and he should easily surpass his sack total from a year ago (4.5) this season with Khalil Mack now drawing attention on the strongside.

While he did suffer a concussion and a neck strain, fortunately X-rays on Moore's neck returned negative. Fresh off avoiding a more serious setback, Moore returned to practice Tuesday to re-claim his starting weakside linebacker position.

It seems he was fortunate enough to escape with just a neck strain, and he even flew home with the team Saturday morning, but coach Dennis Allen said after the game that he was uncertain as to a timetable for Moore's return. Moore, a third-round pick last year, recorded 50 tackles (38 solo) and 4.5 sacks as a rookie. His injury may thrust Miles Burris into a starting role at weakside linebacker.

Moore left Friday's game with a head/neck injury and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation, the Contra Costa Times' Steve Corkran reports. He was down on the field for some time and was barely moving, but he gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he was being carted off, which is something of a good sign. He was atop the Raiders depth chart at weakside linebacker, so this is a big blow to the Raiders' defense, as it doesn't seem likely that Moore will return to the field anytime soon. Miles Burris may be next in line on the weak side.

Sio Moore has been working as the Raiders' second-team weak-side linebacker in training camp. Miles Burris is running with the ones at "Will," with rookie Khalil Mack at Sam 'backer and Nick Roach in the middle. Moore flashed promise during his rookie season, but isn't a natural fit on the weak side, and may be limited to a pass-rush specialist role. Moore had 4.5 sacks in 11 starts last year.

The Raiders are working Sio Moore at weak-side linebacker during OTAs. It's worth noting incumbent WLB Kevin Burnett isn't attending, though he may lose his starting job, anyway. First-round pick Khalil Mack is ticketed for strong-side linebacker, which is Moore's old position. Moore was Reggie McKenzie's only 2013 draft pick who provided a meaningful impact last season. He was a stout run defender, excelled in coverage, and chipped in 4.5 sacks.

Raiders rookie SLB Sio Moore (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday. Moore suffered a concussion in a car accident Saturday and was held out of Week 3, but has officially been cleared to practice. He's played just over 32 percent of the defensive snaps this season and will return to a pass-rushing role at strong-side linebacker.
