Just got to stay positive, man, I’m not dead, I’m breathing, so it’s all good.” Redd was slated to compete for a third-string spot in the backfield prior to sustaining the injury. Trey Williams and Mack Brown will likely be given more time on the field during the preseason in Redd's absence.

Redd (ankle) wants to prove he can handle a larger role, the Redskins' official website reports. Redd spent 2014 as the Redskins' No. 3 running back after making the team out of training camp as an undrafted rookie. He only had 16 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown, adding eight catches for another 107 yards.
