Jones had one reception on two targets for 53 yards in Saturday's preseason win over San Francisco. "I really like his physical style of play," head coach Frank Reich told the Indianapolis Star. "He's very much in the mix."
EDGE Analysis
Jones, an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State who last appeared in the NFL for the Saints in 2015, is in the mix for a final reserve receiver spot.

Jones signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Jones had been out of football since being waived by the Chiefs on Sept. 2. Since going undrafted out of Valdosta State in 2014, Jones has appeared in three NFL games, all of which came with the Saints in 2015.

Jones was released by the Chiefs on Sunday, Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
After receiving plenty of praise early on in the preseason, the hype surrounding Jones slowed significantly over the last few weeks of preseason. Given his upside, Jones is likely to end up on some team's practice squad before the start of the season.

Jones caught just one pass during Saturday's game against the Bengals, but it went for 18 yards and a touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Jones had some early buzz surrounding him early in camp, but his lone reception came from presumed third-string quarterback Tyler Bray. The praise has died down over the last couple of weeks and he's totaled just three receptions through two preseason games. Coach Andy Reid hasn't announced the starters yet, but Jones likely remains in the mix for playing time despite a couple lackluster preseason efforts.

Jones stuck out during Saturday's practice, making multiple catches against All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones was a standout during the team's mandatory minicamp and that play has reportedly carried over into the start of training camp. Signed as a UDFA with the Saints in 2014, Jones spent the majority of last season as a member of the Chiefs' practice squad. He earned some run with the first-team offense during Saturday's session and could be a darkhorse candidate for reps as the team's third receiver behind Tyreek Hill and Chris Conley if he continues to impress.

Jones impressed during the team's OTA's, the Kansas City Star reports. "Eighty-one has done a nice job," said coach Andy Reid. "I know him by 'Stretch' ... he's done a nice job. He had a chance to work in there on the rotation and do some things. Big kid who can run, has pretty good hands. But again, he hasn't played much. Gotta see how he does in camp."
EDGE Analysis
Jones possesses impressive measurables at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds and reportedly displayed the ability to outrun defensive back and make some tough catches during OTAs. Things could change when the pads are put on, but the fourth-year wideout appears to be in the mix for reps early in the offseason following the team's release of veteran wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. Tyreek Hill and Chris Conley appear locked in atop the depth chart at the position, but the remaining names will battle it out during training camp for reps on Sundays.

Jones inked a contract to join the Chiefs' practice squad Sunday, the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones reportedly displayed some promise during camp, enough so that the Chiefs have decided to keep him in Kansas City despite the wideout not securing a 53-man roster spot. He could earn a promotion if injuries occur but it's unlikely the second-year wideout will have a significant role on Sundays.

The Saints promoted Jones from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Evan Woodbery of The Times Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear who Jones will replace on the active roster, but he will be available for Week 1 after failing to initially make the cut. Jones will slot in fifth on the depth chart at the wide receiver position for the Saints.

Jones caught one pass on three targets for ten yards in Sunday's preseason game against the Texans. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Jones did not get an offensive snap until the third quarter.
EDGE Analysis
Entering training camp, Jones had a real shot at earning the Saints' No. 3 wide receiver position, but he apparently has been surpassed on the depth chart by a number of players, including Brandon Coleman and Willie Snead. In a tight battle for roster spots, Jones is probably on the outside looking in. If he's cut, Jones would be a candidate to be added to the Saints' practice squad again.

Despite trading away both Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills this offseason, the Saints did not take a wide receiver in the 2015 NFL Draft. Jones is a leading candidate to be the Saints' fourth or fifth receiver, behind Marques Colston, Brandin Cooks, and Nick Toon, reports ESPN.com. Though he slipped under the radar out of tiny Valdosta State, Jones signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent following the draft last season. During training camp he turned some heads and spent most of the year on the team's practice squad, before being promoted to the active roster in Week 15. While Jones failed to appear in a game, head coach Sean Payton referenced him during a lengthy answer on his confidence in the current receiving corps, at one point saying, "I think we're going to hear a lot of good things from Seantavius Jones and Brandon Coleman." He's still a ways away from making a fantasy impact but the wide-receiver depth chart is wide open in New Orleans and Jones' size (6-3, 200 pounds) makes him, at the very least, a formidable red-zone threat.
