Quessenberry (knee) took part in a tryout with the Commanders on Thursday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quessenberry tore his ACL and MCL last August and missed the entire 2023 campaign. He's presumably now healthy and looking to latch on with a new organization. Quessenberry started 16 of 17 games with Houston in 2022 and had re-signed with the team on a one-year deal prior to suffering the knee injury.

EDGE Analysis
Quessenberry started 16 of 17 games at center for Houston last season and re-signed with the Texans on a one-year, $2.1 million deal. He was expected to compete with 2023 second-rounder Juice Scruggs for the starting job, but now Scruggs will likely open the season as the starter while Quessenberry will undergo surgery for the torn ACL and MCL and spend 2023 rehabbing.

EDGE Analysis
Houston's starting center was carted off during Wednesday's practice and unfortunately, the injury looks to be season ending. Quessenberry (undisclosed) needed to be carted off the field during training camp Thursday. Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Quessenberry's injury details are unclear, so it's hard to know the potential severity of it. The 28-year-old came into camp competing with rookie Juice Scruggs, for the starting-center job, but he'll now need to recover first before he can return to working to earn that role.

Quessenberry was put on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis

The Rams selected Quessenberry in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, 155th overall.
EDGE Analysis
Quessenberry (6-foot-4, 310 pounds) got lost in the shuffle of an unusually strong center class, but he's a formidable prospect in his own right. He's a borderline elite athlete by center standards with a 5.09-second 40 and 7.5-second three-cone drill. The UCLA offense line was a mess much of the time, but that was possibly due to coach Jim Mora inflicting the college football version of the Jeff Fisher Effect.
