Lindley was released by the Colts on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
EDGE Analysis
This move was all but inevitable, given that the Colts started Josh Freeman over Lindley in Week 17. Lindley should find a new home for 2016, but he's unlikely to make it out of training camp on a roster.

Lindley is active as the backup quarterback Sunday against Tennessee with Josh Freeman set to start, the team's official web site reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's possible Lindley could enter the game since Freeman just signed with the Colts last week. However, it looks like Freeman will try to get a win and give the Colts an improbable shot to make the playoffs.

For the third straight day, Lindley and Josh Freeman split the Colts' QB reps at practice on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Both Andrew Luck and Matt Hasselbeck are ruled out this weekend, but for now the Colts are not inclined to identify their starting QB for Sunday's contest against the Titans, making this a situation to avoid from a fantasy perspective.

Lindley is a candidate to start Sunday's game against the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
With Andrew Luck out and Matt Hasselbeck expected to sit as well, it looks like the assignment could come down to either Lindley or Josh Freeman. A decision on that front could potentially drag on all week though, which makes this a situation to avoid in most fantasy formats.

Lindley signed with the Colts on Tuesday, Kevin Bowen of the team's official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Colts also signed quarterback Josh Freeman earlier in the day, with the pair of move strongly suggesting that Andrew Luck (kidney/abdomen) and Matt Hasselbeck (shoulder) aren't expected to play. The team might even consider letting Freeman and Lindley compete with Stephen Morris for the Week 17 starting job against Tennessee.

Lindley has been waived by the Patriots, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Tom Brady's suspension having been nullified, Jimmy Garoppolo will serve as the team's No. 2 QB, with Lindley possibly on the Patriots' speed dial in the event of any injuries at the position. That is, if he doesn't sign elsewhere as a depth signal-caller.

Lindley did not receive a restricted free agent tender from the Cardinals, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports. Lindley has turned in some of the ugliest quarterbacking performances in recent NFL memory, and the Cardinals expect to have both Carson Palmer (knee) and Drew Stanton (knee) back for the 2015 season. It's possible Lindley catches on elsewhere with a chance to compete for a backup spot, but his film won't do him any favors. He may have to settle for work as a camp arm, with the Cardinals likely content to have Logan Thomas as the No. 3 quarterback.

Lindley completed 16-of-28 passes for 82 yards in Saturday's playoff loss to the Panthers. He threw a touchdown pass but also had two passes intercepted and was sacked four times. Lindley and the Cardinals struggled to get anything going offensively and finished with the fewest total yards in a postseason game in NFL history. He started the final two games of the regular season and the Cardinals' lone playoff game, but he did so out of necessity, and will be fortunate to open 2015 with even a backup job.

Lindley will start Saturday's playoff game against the Panthers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. The decision was relayed Thursday by coach Bruce Arians, with Drew Stanton (knee) not ready to return to action this week. The Cardinals have lost both of Lindley's starts over the last two week, but in Week 17's 20-17 loss to the 49ers, he did rack up 316 passing yards, albeit while throwing three picks versus two TDs.

Lindley will take the first-team reps at Tuesday's practice, while Drew Stanton (knee) remains day-to-day, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports. Though he hasn't officially been ruled out, Stanton is unlikely to be ready for Saturday's playoff game in Carolina. A struggling Lindley thus figures to get another start, against a Carolina defense that made strides late in the season.
