Carmichael agreed to a contract with the Eagles on Tuesday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Carmichael was signed to take the roster spot of Earl Wolff (knee), who landed on injured reserve. He will add to the Eagles' depth in the defensive backfield.

Roc Carmichael started Sunday's Week 10 game at Green Bay in place of Bradley Fletcher (pectorals). Instead of shifting impressive yet undersized slot corner Brandon Boykin outside, they left him in his natural position and gave Carmichael a shot. It turned out to be a wise plan. Carmichael handled himself well and Boykin was able to contain Jordy Nelson in the slot. "I thought Roc did a really nice job," coach Chip Kelly said. "We've been really impressed with him. He's come along."

Texans DBs coach Vance Joseph says CB Roc Carmichael looked "a little slow" in OTAs after missing his entire rookie season with a shoulder injury. "With Roc, what I've seen is a guy who's missed football," Joseph said. "He's missed a year of football, but you can see the physical tools. ... I'm expecting Roc to play better in camp." Joseph's comments don't exactly bode well for a fourth-round reach who was also injury prone in college. Even if Carmichael keeps his roster spot, he won't make an impact in Houston's secondary.
