NFL Network's Mike Lombardi believes that both DE Robert Mathis and WR Reggie Wayne are available for trade at "the right price."
Mathis and Wayne are both in contract years, and neither would be a reasonable candidate for the franchise tag in 2012 because Peyton Manning is holding captive so much salary cap space. Wayne turns 33 years old next month and is obviously in decline. Mathis is 29. He'd cost a pretty penny to re-sign.

Colts LE Robert Mathis (neck, questionable) will play Sunday in Week 2 against the Browns, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.
Mathis did not participate at all during practice this week, so it remains to be seen how effective he'll be in Sunday's contest. He graded out well against the pass in Week 1, but was a big liability defending Houston's rushing attack.

Colts LE Robert Mathis was forced from Friday evening's preseason game against the Packers with a right hamstring injury.
Mathis' condition has yet to be updated, but it's doubtful the injury is serious. His status will be updated if it's revealed his removal from last night's game was anything other than precautionary.

Colts LE Robert Mathis says he never considered holding out of training camp.
Mathis has been vocal in the past regarding displeasure with his current contract. The three-time Pro Bowler is entering the final year of a contract that will pay him $2.41 million this season. Mathis may have to wait for Reggie Wayne to get a new deal before the Colts turn their attention to him.

Colts LE Robert Mathis disputes a report that he's planning to hold out of training camp this summer in an effort to land a new contract.
Someone from the Mathis camp leaked the initial report, but the three-time Pro Bowler understands that he's behind Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne in the contract pecking order. "I have every intention on doing my job once the NFL gives us our job back," writes Mathis. "I never been a locker room cancer and wont start now."

According to the Sports Xchange's Len Pasquerelli, Colts LE Robert Mathis "has no intention" of reporting to training camp without a new contract.
"(Mathis will) never play another snap there under that (existing) contract," according to a source close to the situation. In the final year of a five-year, $30 million deal he signed in 2006, Mathis is set to make just $2.41 million this season. Coming off an 11-sack, 60-tackle campaign, he is not without leverage.
