Mathis (Achilles) was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
Although limited, Mathis participated in all three days of practice this week. He could play this week against Buffalo as a result, but he many only play a few snaps to be eased into action as he returns from a torn Achilles suffered last September.

Mathis (Achilles) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
It's not clear if Mathis will play this week or how many snaps he may play if he returns. However, his return to practice, even if limited, bodes well for his return as early as Week 1.

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Robert Mathis was activated from the Physically-Unable-to-Perform list Tuesday as he continues to recover from an Achilles tendon injury, according to the Indianapolis Star. Mathis still isn't expected to be healthy enough to play until late September at the earliest, but the move does indicate the team is confident he will miss fewer than the mandatory six games had he begun the regular season on the PUP list.

Though he hasn't been cleared to run yet, Mathis (Achilles) said Tuesday that he expects to be ready for the beginning of training camp, Alex Marvez of FOX Sports 1 reports.
The news comes just one week after Colts owner Jim Irsay suggested that Mathis likely wouldn't be back from the injury until November. There's still plenty of time between both training camp and the start of the regular season for Mathis' status to be further clarified, and more information should become available as he begins to engage in rehab activities over the next several weeks. Even if Mathis is able to recover in time for Week 1, it's difficult to imagine him having the same kind of impact as a pass rusher now that he'll be entering his age-34 season.

Mathis may not be ready to "re-emerge" from a torn Achilles injury until November, Colts owner Jim Irsay told the team's official web site.
Mathis missed all of last season due to a torn Achilles. Mathis had said he hoped to be ready for spring practices, but this statement sounds like he won't be ready until later this year. At age 34 and coming off a major injury, it's possible his career could be over due to the ailment.

Mathis, who is still recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered in September, is still hoping to participate in at least a portion of spring OTAs, his agent told NFL.com.Mathis' agent, Hadley Engelhard, refuted an ESPN report that his client recently had a setback. Still, it's not clear if Mathis at age 34 will be able to fully recover from the surgery. We'll need to see how he holds up in practice when he does return to determine if he'll be an impact player again.

Mathis is still recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered in September, Kevin Bowen of the Colts' website reports.
It's not clear where Mathis stands in his recovery, and that may not be known for a while, as Colts GM Ryan Grigson said "hopefully in a couple months" the Colts will have an update on his status. It remains to be seen if Mathis will be back at 100 percent when training camps rolls around this summer.

Mathis (Achilles) signed a one-year extension with the Colts on Tuesday, ESPN reports.
Mathis' new contract with the Colts extends through the 2016 season. Although his four-game suspension has now been completed, Mathis remains on injured reserve after suffering a torn Achilles while working out earlier this month. As a result, Mathis, who led the NFL with 19.5 sacks last season, won't be available until the 2015 campaign.
