Griffin will start the year as Baltimore's No. 2 quarterback, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamar Jackson accounted for six touchdowns during the preseason, but he completed just 50 percent of his passes for 6.0 yards per attempt. The Ravens reportedly will turn to Griffin if Joe Flacco suffers an injury early in the season, though it won't come as any surprise if Jackson ultimately climbs higher on the depth chart.

Griffin earned a spot on Baltimore's initial 53-man roster, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach John Harbaugh typically only carries two quarterbacks, but Griffin carved out a third spot with his solid performance this preseason. It isn't quite clear if the Ravens would turn to Griffin or Lamar Jackson in the event of a Joe Flacco injury/benching.

Griffin completed nine of 15 passes for 66 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added 41 yards on five rushes in the Ravens' 27-10 preseason win over the Dolphins on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin has been somewhat of a forgotten man in the team's quarterback competition, with all the focus centered on whether first-round pick Lamar Jackson could overtake incumbent Joe Flacco. However, Griffin has been doing his best to make it a three-man competition, with Saturday's performance his latest solid preseason effort. Factoring in his numbers against the Dolphins, Griffin has completed 27 of 41 passes (65.9 percent) for 243 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, more than holding his own in the battle. Whether it will be enough to nudge the Ravens into keeping three quarterbacks remains to be seen, but the former first-round pick figures to at least made enough of an impression to garner interest from other teams if he doesn't make final cuts.

Griffin's one-year contract with the Ravens has a $1 million non-guaranteed base salary and a $100,000 signing bonus, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The contract details confirm that Griffin will need to compete for a roster spot and backup job, though Joe Flacco and 2017 undrafted free agent Josh Woodrum are the only other quarterbacks currently on the roster. Woodrum was impressive last preseason and spent his entire rookie campaign on the Ravens' practice squad, but he's no match for the No. 2 overall pick from the 2012 draft when it comes to physical talent. After spending last season out of football on the heels of a rough 2016 campaign with Cleveland, the 28-year-old seems ready to accept a reality in which he needs to compete for a backup job. It's one of the more attractive backup gigs in the league, as Flacco hasn't played well since 2014.

Griffin signed a one-year contract with the Ravens on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Released by Cleveland last March, the No. 2 overall pick from the 2012 draft never signed with another team and ultimately sat out the 2017 season. He'll have a good chance to win the backup job in Baltimore, where 2016 undrafted free agent Josh Woodrum is the only other quarterback on the roster behind starter Joe Flacco. Griffin completed 59.2 percent of his passes for 6.0 yards per attempt with the Browns in 2016, throwing two touchdowns and three interceptions on 147 pass attempts in five games, though he did add 190 yards and two scores on the ground. He turned 28 in February.

Griffin is scheduled to work out for the Chargers on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cut by the Browns in March, Griffin has reportedly been working out with ex-Colts OC and current Michigan assistant head coach Pep Hamilton this offseason. If he were to ultimately sign with the Chargers, Griffin would likely need to beat out incumbent backup Kellen Clemens in order to make the final roster.

The Browns will release Griffin on Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Browns are thus in the midst of their latest QB overhaul, after having added Brock Osweiler (for now) and reportedly poised to make a run at trading for New England's Jimmy Garoppolo. Griffin has had trouble staying healthy over the course of his NFL career, but he's just 27 years old and a former No. 2 overall pick, so he'll no doubt be afforded an opportunity to kickstart his career elsewhere. In such a scenario though, we doubt that he'll be simply handed a starting job.

The Browns are expected to part ways with Griffin, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Grifin was unable to revive his career in Cleveland, completing just 59.2 percent of his passes for 6.0 yards per attempt in five appearances. The team's decision to take on Brock Osweiler (and his contract) essentially cemented Griffin's exit. Now five years removed from his brilliant rookie season, the 27-year-old would be lucky to find a shot to compete for a starting job. He may have to settle for an outright backup gig .

Griffin finished up the 2016 season by completing 29 of 40 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Steelers. He also rushed five times for 32 yards and was intercepted once.
EDGE Analysis
During his last chance to prove he can be Cleveland's franchise quarterback, Griffin displayed the ability to make plays with his arm rather than his feet. He completed 72 percent of his passes and connected with eight different receivers, including two touchdown tosses to tight ends Gary Barnidge and Seth DeValve. Although he's signed through 2017, his future with the Browns is a bit unclear at this time. He missed the majority of the season with a shoulder injury and never really had the opportunity to show that he's more than just a placeholder. We should know more as the offseason unfolds.

Griffin has been confirmed as the Browns' starting quarterback for Sunday's season finale against the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin was cleared from his concussion Thursday morning, paving the way for him to start a fourth straight game to close this season. With the Steelers having already secured a playoff spot, Griffin could benefit from Pittsburgh resting a number of key defensive players, potentially boosting his chances of throwing his first touchdown of the current campaign.
