Gronkowski (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in Monday's walk-through practice, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bucs' initial injury report of the week was lengthy, but in the case of Gronkowski, we'll operate under the assumption that his listed limitations were maintenance-related. If that's indeed the case, the tight end seems destined for more pass-catching opportunities, beginning Thursday against the Bears, in the wake of teammate O.J. Howard having suffered a major Achilles' injury Sunday.

Gronkowski secured one of three targets for 29 yards in the Buccaneers' 38-31 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Gronkowski once again was firmly down the list in terms of targets, as his relatively underwhelming start to the season carried over into a fourth game Sunday. The former Patriot legend's profile in the offense appeared to be on the rise after a season-high six-catch tally Week 3, but he was back down to a minor role Sunday despite gaining impressive yardage on his one reception. However, the season-ending Achilles injury suffered by O.J. Howard late in Sunday's contest could change that dynamic beginning with a road matchup against the Bears on Thursday night.

Coach Bruce Arians said Wednesday that he expects Gronkowski to continue handling somewhere close to the 92 percent offensive snap share he managed in the Buccaneers' Week 3 win over the Broncos, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gronkowski played 77 and 69 percent of snaps in the first two games of the season, so his 90-plus percent snap share Week 3 represented a significant jump. The veteran tight end continued to see heavy use as a blocker, but he also emerged in the passing game with six catches for 48 yards on seven targets after having drawn only three looks combined over the first two weeks. With Chris Godwin (hamstring) in danger of missing the next two games and Scotty Miller (hip) and Justin Watson (shoulder) both banged up, Gronkowski could again be in store for an elevated target count Sunday against the Chargers.

Gronkowski secured six of seven targets for 48 yards in the Buccaneers' 28-10 win over the Broncos on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
After two forgettable weeks to start the campaign, Gronkowski finished with the team lead in receptions and targets for the contest. The perennial Pro Bowler appeared to be moving well on his routes, bearing resemblance to the early career version of himself that was utterly dominant at his position for multiple seasons. It's reasonable to expect that Gronkowski was going to have even more of an acclimation period than Tom Brady in their new Tampa Bay digs given that Gronk was also getting back into football shape after a season off in addition to adapting to a new offensive system. Therefore, Sunday's performance could be a sign that things are starting to click for Gronkowski, who'll look to carry over the momentum into a Week 4 home matchup against the Chargers.

Gronkowski failed to bring in his only target in the Buccaneers' 31-17 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The multi-time Pro Bowler has not looked the part over the first two games of his NFL return after a one-year sabbatical. Gronk's legendary rapport with future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady has yet to materialize; in fact, the tight end was the intended target Sunday on Brady's lone interception. Gronkowski's fantasy dud was made all the more galling by the fact receiver Chris Godwin (concussion) was sidelined for the contest, which could have seemingly set up the former for a significant boost in opportunity. Gronkowski will look to put his forgettable 2020 start behind him when the Buccaneers clash with the Broncos in a Week 3 interconference road battle.

Gronkowski caught two of three targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 34-23 loss to the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old supposedly looked rejuvenated in camp after taking the 2019 season off, but Gronkowski didn't make much impact in his Tampa debut. In fact, it was O.J. Howard, and not Gronk, who hauled in Tom Brady's first TD pass as a Buccaneer. With a deep TE group that also includes Cameron Brate all jockeying for snaps, there may not be many opportunities for Gronkowski in the early going until he's fully up to speed on his new playbook.

Gronkowski seems to have greatly benefited from taking last season off and has been consistently making plays throughout early padded practices, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. "No similarities at all [to 2018 Gronkowski]," said coach Bruce Arians on Thursday. "He looks like he was five or six years ago, before all the injuries. The back surgeries have healed, so he's had a year of healing. He looks to me like he was five or six years ago."
EDGE Analysis
Gronkowski frequently seemed a sluggish shadow of his former self during his last Patriots campaign in 2018, a year where he missed three games and finished with a 47-682-3 line. His elite athleticism helped him get by that season to an extent, but the Buccaneers appear to have acquired an early-career version of Gronk if early camp practices are any indication, with the 10-year pro frequently getting downfield and making catches in traffic with ease. Gronkowski concedes the defense was moving much faster than he remembered during his first couple of practices, but that he now feels "everything coming back to him day by day." The veteran also noted Thursday he's not thinking along the lines of having his snap count limited despite having excellent depth behind him in the form of O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate, noting he'd be willing to be in on every play if necessary but acknowledging his playing time will ultimately be in the hands of the coaching staff.

Gronkowski has impressed in early camp practices with his athleticism and seemingly unchanged rapport with quarterback Tom Brady, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The perennial Pro-Bowl tight end seems to have gotten through his year off from the NFL with his extensive skill set unscathed, and he's been standing out since the Buccaneers hit the field last week. The legendary chemistry between Brady and Gronkowski also is evident, as the two have connected for several completions inside very small passing windows on multiple occasions, including on a nifty back-corner touchdown toss in Monday's first padded practice. Vitali separately reports Gronkowski is still in the process of adjusting to how coach Bruce Arians utilizes tight ends in his offense, with incumbent O.J. Howard lending an assist in the classroom to get the prized offseason acquisition up to speed.

Gronkowski was one of approximately a dozen Buccaneers players to participate in a workout at Berkeley Preparatory School on Tuesday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gronkowski's long-time teammate in New England, Tom Brady, has regularly convened a group of Bucs players at the school for the last several weeks, a practice that continues despite concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The prolific tight end began participating in the sessions over a week ago and has been among a collection of skill position players that also includes Mike Evans and Chris Godwin running a full array of pass routes. Despite the presence of accomplished incumbents O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate, Gronkowski is expected to be the top option at the position due to both his talent and extensive history with Brady.

Gronkowski passed a physical, making his trade from New England to Tampa Bay official, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, the last hurdle has been completed in the transaction. With the decision to come out of retirement, Gronkowski joins forces with Tom Brady, from whom he caught 78 touchdowns in nine seasons together with the Patriots. The Buccaneers' tight end room now is jam-packed, as Gronkowski joins a group composed of O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate, among others. Considering his rapport with Brady, Gronkowski immediately vaults up the ranks of TEs in terms of fantasy, but the soon-to-be 31-year-old will have to compete with the aforementioned duo plus the stellar WR combo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in 2020.
