Cooper, who participated in the Bucs' rookie mini-camp on a tryout basis this weekend, is not expected to be signed by the team in the near future, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Naturally, that doesn't close the door on a possible return later in the summer, and Cooper notably already has an advocate on the club in former Eagles teammate DeSean Jackson. However, the additions of Jackson, third-round pick Chris Godwin and promising CFL standout Derel Walker in the offseason have added to a crowded and much deeper wideout corps than the team boasted a year ago at this point. Additionally, after being out of the NFL last season, Cooper was unsurprisingly fighting off some rust throughout the three-day mini-camp.

For the time being, Cooper is nothing more than a blocker in Kelly's offense.

He had an impact on the game for the second week in a row, and with the release of wide receiver Miles Austin this past week, his role in the offense will remain marginal but existent. He's still an extremely shaky commodity in any fantasy league.

It was just one catch, but in the context of the game, Cooper made a big play, picking up a first down very late in the fourth quarter. Still, his fantasy value remains extremely limited, and he's only a desperation play in most formats. His 62-yard touchdown catch from earlier this season was a mirage, and he's been low on the hierarchy of quarterback Sam Bradford's targets for quite some time now.
