Bryant (Achilles) returned to practice Monday, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Discomfort in Bryant's Achilles forced back-to-back absences over the weekend, but his presence Monday allowed him to resume his quest for a reserve spot along the Cardinals' defensive front.

Bryant hasn't practiced in training camp due to a sore Achilles, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
On Saturday, head coach Bruce Arians relayed to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com that Bryant's injury isn't serious, but he remained on the sideline Sunday. Because Achilles-related issues can linger for lengthy periods, Bryant likely has more of an indefinite timetable for a return than intimated by Arians.

Bryant was released by the Jaguars on Thursday, the Florida Times-Union reports.
Bryant, who was due a $500,000 roster bonus this weekend, will part ways with the Jaguars after only one season. The move saves the Jags about $4.5 million cap space, and Bryant became expendable after the team signed Jared Odrick on Wednesday. The 31-year-old Bryant started all 16 games last season, recording 22 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.

Free agent DE Red Bryant is expected to sign a new deal before the start of free agency.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Bryant's market is "strong." Bryant hasn't generated much public buzz since his release from the Seahawks last week, but has been linked to the Chiefs. He'd be wise to find a new home before free agency floods the market with similar talents.

The National Football Post's Aaron Wilson is "hearing" the Chiefs have interest in free agent DE Red Bryant.
Bryant could play five-technique end in Kansas City, replacing free agent Tyson Jackson. Bryant is also expected to field interest from New England, though he hasn't generated significant buzz since Seattle released him on Friday.

Seahawks released DL Red Bryant.
FOX Sports' Alex Marvez first reported that Bryant was expected to be released. The move clears $5.5 million in cap space, and along with the release of Sidney Rice frees up $7.3 for the Super Bowl champions. Marvez reported GM John Schneider was planning to put some of the money toward re-signing DE Michael Bennett. Bryant saw his career resurrected under coach Pete Carroll, but was called on for only 488 snaps in 2013. Bryant is stout as a run stopper, but offers nothing as a pass rusher. He was expendable for a team with Seattle's defensive line depth. There's a good chance Bryant finds a new home before the start of free agency on March 11.

The Patriots tried to sign DL Red Bryant as a free agent in 2012.
Bryant ultimately decided to spurn the Patriots to sign a five-year, $35 million deal with the Seahawks. Fast forward two years, and he's expected to be released by the Seahawks as a cap casualty. Bryant will come cheaper this time around and would be a nice add for Bill Belichick at the defensive tackle spot, where Vince Wilfork is 32 years old and coming off an Achilles' tear. The Jags and former Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley could also have interest.

FOX Sports' Alex Marvez reports the Seahawks will release LE Red Bryant.
The move would save $5.5M in cap room. Per Marvez, GM John Schneider plans to use the money toward re-signing free agent DE Michael Bennett. A former defensive tackle and disappointing 2008 fourth-round pick, Bryant's career was resurrected when Pete Carroll arrived in Seattle, converting him to a mammoth run-stopping "five-technique" end. Bryant signed a five-year, $35M deal in 2012 and is owed $7.5M in salary and bonuses in 2014. Once the transaction goes down, Bryant will become an attractive free agent. He turns 30 in April.

Seahawks LE Red Bryant currently has an $8.5 million cap number for 2014.
Working against Bryant is a $3 million roster bonus due on March 14. Bryant only played 488 snaps in 2013, offers next to nothing in terms of a pass rush, and turns 30 in April. The Seahawks are looking to clear as much cap space as possible with important players like DL Michael Bennett set to hit the open market next month.
