The Denver Post believes Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) would be ready to play in a regular season game.
"If Broncos play the Steelers tomorrow, Manning plays," beat writer Mike Klis tweeted Tuesday. "He may throw 15 checkdowns, 15 in the 10-12 yd range and three deep balls. But he plays." We've yet to hear anything negative about Manning's progress since he signed with the Broncos. That means little until he faces live action, of course. Regardless, Manning will be 100 percent for camp.

Although Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) concedes he's not all the way back to pre-injury form, coach John Fox says the quarterback looks as good as ever.
"Physically, he looks the same to me as he's always looked," said Fox. The reviews on Manning's arm strength were positive after working on deep throws in Monday's practice. Manning has three more months to iron out the kinks and nail down timing with his new batch of receivers and tight ends.

The Broncos have Peyton Manning on a pitch count for OTAs.
It's not a concern in the least. Manning took all of the first-team reps in two OTA sessions open to the media, and the Broncos plan to gradually increase his reps going forward. All reports we've seen suggest Manning's arm looks the same as it did prior to the string of neck surgeries.

Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) is participating fully in Broncos OTAs.
Multiple reports claim Manning's velocity has returned, although we won't get a clear picture until preseason rolls around. OC Mike McCoy has indicated that his terminology will remain, while Manning has "bought in" to a drastically revised Broncos offense that has old Indianapolis elements. Manning has played 13 seasons in the NFL. His teams have finished in the top eight in pass attempts nine times, and not once has his offense ranked lower than 15th.

Archie Manning believes Peyton Manning will take things "year to year" for the rest of his career.
"I think he's always done a good job of not taking his health for granted," Archie said of his son. "But after missing a season, I think he is going year to year.'' There is little "year to year" about Peyton's contract, as he will be guaranteed $20 million base salaries in 2013 and 2014 if he can pass a physical next March. It's no secret that Peyton's neck woes could end his career on a dime, but he's a likely candidate to keep slinging it until it's no longer physically possible.

The Broncos will square off against the Steelers in the first NBC Sunday Night Football game of the 2012 season.
The Peyton Manning effect is already being felt in Denver, where the Steelers' season ended in January. The AFC North will also reportedly be featured in the Monday Night opener, with the Bengals traveling to Baltimore. The rest of the NFL schedule will be released at 7:00 p.m. ET Tuesday evening.

After working out with Peyton Manning this spring, Eric Decker says there's "no question" that Manning still possesses plenty of arm strength after multiple neck operations.
"The guy's still throwing the ball a long time, throwing it great, hitting you in the right spot," Decker said. "He's such a perfectionist. If he hits you in the belly button, he gets mad at himself for not hitting you in the chest. It's unbelievable to be around a guy who has those standards for himself." Decker isn't going to say anything negative about his new quarterback, but it's still positive news. Decker's stats could take off with Manning at the controls.

Duke head coach David Cutcliffe, who has been directing workouts with Peyton Manning, says the quarterback is "great shape, not good shape."
"He can make all the throws, his release times are perfect," said Cutcliffe. "His velocity is good. ... He could play a game. We've done it, we've simulated games, and he's done well. He's going to do nothing but get stronger and going to play up to his standards." Manning admittedly isn't fully back yet, but signs seem to be point towards a successful return in 2012. His neck issues and age provide obvious risks, but Manning has the looks of a middle-of-the-pack QB1 in 2012 fantasy drafts.

According to a report by SI.com's Peter King, the Redskins met with Peyton Manning for three hours after agreeing to a trade for the Rams' No. 2 overall pick.
It's not major news, as the Redskins were never going to sign Manning while also drafting a quarterback second overall. It is interesting, however, that Broncos czar John Elway noted Manning was "stunned" by the news, presumably because the Redskins had been on Peyton's short list. Manning confirmed to King that he holds Skins coach Mike Shanahan in high esteem.

According to one AFC scout, there was a "significant fall-off" in Peyton Manning's ability by the end of the 2010 season.
"He showed stiffness and lost athletic traits," said the scout. "... You could see it with his arm strength, too." Another executive said that while Manning's rotation and accuracy were fine, "there was enough there for concern" on velocity. This isn't exactly new information, as ESPN's Ron Jaworski stated the same opinion at the time. It's hard to tell how much of the loss was due to the neck injury that has since been repaired. The good news is Denver's supporting cast is actually superior to the one in Indy two years ago.
