Peyton Manning completed 27-of-41 passes for 289 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Denver's 27-20, Week 15 loss to the Chargers. Manning was obviously off his game, but the real issue was how well the Chargers' executed their game-plan. Controlling the ball with the running game, San Diego held the Broncos to just 52 plays, and chewed up 38:49 of clock. When Manning was on the field, he tossed a few lifeless passes. He took a big hit on his pick, which fluttered like a wounded dove before landing in Thomas Keiser's arms. Manning definitely missed Wes Welker on his quick-hitting, chain-moving passes, but Andre Caldwell did a respectable impression in the slot. It just wasn't Denver's night. The good news, of course, is that Manning's "off" night - 289 yards, two scores - is hardly chump change for fantasy purposes. It's not an effort that should doom fantasy seasons. Manning gets the moribund Texans in Week 16.

Coach John Fox wouldn't answer Monday when asked whether he would rest Peyton Manning in the event the Broncos clinched the AFC's No. 1 seed early. Although the notion of sitting players when high playoff seeding is locked in makes sense logically, the result of doing so has rarely paid off for teams who employ the strategy. This still isn't a Week 15 fantasy concern. The Broncos are 11-2, just one game ahead of the 10-3 Patriots and 10-3 division rival Chiefs. There's still plenty to play for. Denver faces San Diego in Week 15.

With temperatures hovering around 16 degrees for much of the game and Manning facing the Titans' elite corner duo, pundits suggested the league's obvious MVP might struggle. It didn't happen. Manning was extremely sharp once again, spreading the ball to all his weapons and not missing a beat after Wes Welker left with a concussion. It's Manning's seventh game with more than 350 yards passing and his seventh game with four or more touchdown passes. He'll be fantasy's No. 1 quarterback in Week 15, when the Broncos host the Chargers.

Peyton Manning is 3-7 in career games where the game-time temperature was 32 degrees or colder. That record includes both regular season and playoff games. In those contests, he's thrown 11 touchdowns against 12 interceptions with a 59.4 completion percentage and 214.1 yards per game. Obviously, those numbers are drastically below his normal output. The forecast for Sunday's home game against the Titans calls for 16 degree temperatures and a 30 percent chance of snow.

Peyton Manning (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Manning has been taking Wednesdays off the last couple weeks as he deals with his ankle injury. He participated in the walkthrough and is in no danger of missing Sunday's game against Titans. Manning is a top-three QB1 for Week 14.

Peyton Manning completed 22-of-35 passes for 403 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions as the Broncos held off the Chiefs 35-28 in Week 13. The Chiefs couldn't generate pass rush without Justin Houston, so Manning went to work on rookie LCB Marcus Cooper. Eric Decker burned Cooper relentlessly, scoring four times, and Manning's fifth touchdown throw came on a swing pass to Knowshon Moreno out of the backfield from three yards out. On fire again, Peyton will continue to be an elite QB1 when Denver hosts Tennessee in Week 14.
