Harvin said Wednesday that he plans to come out of retirement and attempt a return to the NFL, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

Harvin initially decided to retire after the 2015 season but then played a couple of games for the Bills in November 2016. He's set to turn 32 in May, four years removed from his last NFL appearance and nine years removed from his career-best 2011 campaign with the Vikings. Harvin could draw some interest as a slot receiver and return specialist, but he'll need to battle for a spot on a 53-man roster if he ends up signing with an NFL franchise. His lengthy medical record is highlighted by chronic hip injuries and migraines, with Harvin playing only 30 games for four different teams between 2012 and 2016. He reportedly weighs 185 pounds, which is seven pounds below what he checked in at during the 2009 NFL Combine weight and about 15 pounds shy of his listed playing weight for most of his career.

Harvin announced via his Twitter profile Monday that he is officially un-retiring and wants to play in the NFL again.

EDGE Analysis

If Harvin is able to find another chance in the league, it would be the second time that he leaves retirement to resume playing. The 31-year-old came out of retirement the first time to play for Buffalo again in 2016, but was sidelined after two games by migraines that he had been dealing with throughout his career. Over the course of Harvin's seven-year tenure, he just wasn't able to get back to the numbers he put up in Minnesota to begin his career. The speedy wideout logged 87 catches for 967 yards and six touchdowns in 2011, but was never able to record more than 350 yards in a season after 2012.

Harvin (head) plans to retire, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports.

EDGE Analysis

Harvin came out of retirement to play for the Bills last season, only to be sidelined after two games by the migraines that have bothered him throughout his career. A first-round selection back in 2009, the speedy 28-year-old is apparently calling it quits for good. He isn't fielding offers in free agency -- which may or may not have been the case at this time last year.

Harvin was placed on the Bills' reserve/non-football illness list Monday, ending his season.

EDGE Analysis

Harvin came out of retirement to play a pair of games for the Bills before missing Buffalo's latest couple contests due to severe migraine headaches. With those issues continuing lately, he'll now be shut down for the season, which will presumably result in him considering calling it quits on his injury-troubled career once again.

Harvin (migraine) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

EDGE Analysis

Harvin's migraine issues will prevent him playing for a second consecutive week. The Bills are extremely banged up at the wide receiver position, as Robert Woods (knee) is also out this week and both Sammy Watkins (foot) and Marquise Goodwin (wrist) are injured too, but it appears the latter two will be able to suit up and lead the Bills' receiving corps in Week 13.

Harvin (illness) was not spotted at Friday's practice, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Harvin has not gotten on the practice field since coming down with migraines last Thursday, and it appears that will remain the case Friday. Unless he is able to get some work in behind the scenes over the next couple days, it's looking unlikely he will be able to give it a go in Week 13.

Harvin (illness) was not at practice Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

EDGE Analysis

With Harvin still dealing with migraines, his status for Sunday's game against the Raiders looks cloudy. Since Robert Woods is also very iffy for the contest, it looks like the Bills' wideout corps will once again be taxed in Week 13. On the plus side, Sammy Watkins was spotted on the practice field Thursday.

Harvin (illness) won't practice Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Harvin has been dealing with migraines of late, an issue that kept him from playing this past Sunday against the Jaguars. That he's not ready to practice as of Wednesday signals that Harvin is not a lock to return this weekend against the Raiders. With Robert Woods looking iffy to return this week, Justin Hunter could see an expanded role in the Bills' Week 13 wideout corps, which has been bolstered by the return of Sammy Watkins.

Harvin (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against Jacksonville.

EDGE Analysis

Once again suffering from migraines, Harvin will sit Sunday's game out, though the team's Week 12 wideout corps will be bolstered by the return to action of Sammy Watkins.

Harvin is not expected to play Sunday against Jacksonville after suffering migraines during the week, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

EDGE Analysis

Harvin has had problems with migraines frequently through his career. Harvin's absence could be offset somewhat by the expected return of Sammy Watkins from a foot injury.
