McQuistan (ankle) will not play against the Steelers on Sunday, ESPN.com reports. McQuistan was not listed as a starter, but his absence will leave the Browns with just seven healthy offensive linemen for Sunday's game. There's no word on a timetable for McQuistan's return, but we'll have an update when the severity of his injury is known.

Browns signed G/T Paul McQuistan. McQuistan started 14 games for the Seahawks last season, operating at both left tackle and left guard. In Cleveland, he'll compete for a starting guard job and/or be a versatile reserve elsewhere. The Seahawks are going younger behind their starters on the left side, Russell Okung and James Carpenter.

Free agent G/T Paul McQuistan is visiting the Browns. McQuistan, 31 next month, started 40 games the past three seasons for the Seahawks. He's capable of playing both guard and tackle but isn't particularly good at any spot. McQuistan would compete for the swing role in Cleveland.

Seahawks G/T Paul McQuistan's roster spot may be in jeopardy. McQuistan, 30, is scheduled to count $3 million against the cap in the final year of his contract, and that's too much for a backup if LG James Carpenter can come back and reclaim the starting job. The Seahawks could also ask McQuistan to restructure his deal so he can stick around as a versatile reserve.

Seahawks OG Paul McQuistan triggered an escalator in his contract, upping his 2013 salary from $2 million to $3 million. McQuistan signed a two-year deal last offseason, and he went on to start all 16 games with regular LG James Carpenter battling injuries and rookie RG J.R. Sweezy not performing. McQuistan, 30 in April, is much better suited in a backup role. He's moving in on the final year of his deal.

Paul McQuistan is penciled in as the Seahawks' starting left guard. Frank Omiyale will also be in the mix for the job and Seattle is expected to add some offensive line help via the draft. Pro Football Focus graded McQusitan as average in 2011, but he was the top-rated guard on the Seahawks. John Moffitt is the favorite to start on the right side, but newly-signed Deuce Lutui will be in the mix.

With Jammal Brown's (hip) future with the team up in the air, the Redskins are expected to target a right tackle in free agency. The Washington Post considers it the offense's biggest need, ahead of a playmaking wide receiver. Post beat writer Mike Jones suggests the Skins are high on journeyman free agent Paul McQuistan, who has experience in Seattle's zone-blocking system.
