Saints released RB Patrick Cobbs (undisclosed) with an injury settlement. Cobbs landed on injured reserve during cut-down weekend after appearing in 51 games for the Dolphins the past four seasons. He'll look to sign somewhere as a special teamer, though he does have 32 career receptions.

Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel believes the Dolphins could re-sign Patrick Cobbs for a special teams role. Cobbs played just under 6 snaps per game in 2011, primarily as a receiver out of the backfield. The news here is that the Dolphins could be in the market for a new scatback, a position head coach Tony Sparano would love to get more talented at. Free agent Darren Sproles and trade candidate Steve Slaton both fit the bill.
