Peterman completed both of his pass attempts for 23 yards Monday on the Bills' final drive of the game after Derek Anderson took a hit that sent him to the locker room.
EDGE Analysis
While the Patriots were playing soft coverage and happy to let the clock run out with underneath stuff, we suppose the fact that Peterman didn't throw an interception is some small victory. Josh Allen (elbow) may not be ready to return for Week 9 against the Bears while Anderson's status is currently murky, so there's a chance it could be the Peterman Show one more time.

Peterman's teammate Derek Anderson will get the start Week 8 against New England, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perhaps it's a sign just how bad Peterman has been in limited chances -- he's thrown nine interceptions on just 79 career passes -- when he's being bypassed for a 35-year-old that just signed with the team two weeks ago and turned the ball over four times in Sunday's loss against the Colts. Josh Allen (elbow) isn't ready to come back yet, so Peterman will remain the No. 2 for the time being. It'll be interesting to see what the Bills do when the prized rookie is ready to return, while it's possible Peterman could see the field in Week 8 if the Patriots get out to a big lead vs. the Bills, if only so the team has a last-ditch attempt to see if the second-year player holds any promise around his shattered ego.

Peterman will remain in a backup role Sunday against the Colts with coach Sean McDermott announcing that Derek Anderson would start at quarterback in place of the injured Josh Allen (elbow), Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
After Peterman tossed two interceptions -- including one that was returned for a touchdown -- in relief of Allen during the Bills' Week 6 loss to the Texans, McDermott couldn't justify turning the starting job back over to the second-year signal-caller. Peterman has struggled mightily across his six career regular-season appearances, completing just 44.3 percent of his passes while throwing for three scores and nine picks. Even though Allen is considered week-to-week and seems likely to miss multiple games, the Bills will hand the keys to the offense over to the 35-year-old Anderson, who doesn't fit into the team's long-term plans but should provide more stability behind center than Peterman.

Peterman completed six of 12 pass attempts for 61 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Texans. He also gained two yards on his only carry.
EDGE Analysis
Peterman was called into action after Josh Allen went down with an elbow injury late in the third quarter. He helped capitalize on a Texans turnover with a 16-yard touchdown pass to give his side the lead, but he threw interceptions on back-to-back drives in the fourth quarter, including one that was returned for the decisive touchdown. The severity of Allen's injury has yet to be determined, but in the event that he's forced to miss time Peterman would step in as the starter. However, given his track record of ineptitude, the team could turn to Derek Anderson or pursue outside options if the rookie is facing an extended absence.

Coach Sean McDermott said Peterman would remain the Bills' No. 2 quarterback Sunday against the Texans, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
While McDermott relayed that the signing of veteran quarterback Derek Anderson doesn't change Peterman's standing with the Bills, it's unclear if that will hold true in the weeks to come. Since Anderson didn't attend training camp with a team and will presumably need time to get up to speed with the Buffalo playbook after he joined the roster Tuesday, it was never likely that he would suit up Sunday. Once Anderson gets acclimated to his new surrounding and puts in some practice time, his more extensive NFL experience could give him the edge on the understudy gig over Peterman, who owns a career 43.3 percent completion rate and 2:7 TD:INT over his five regular-season outings.

Peterman has a new teammate after the Bills signed veteran Derek Anderson to a one-year deal Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Bills haven't given Anderson an exact role yet, and there's a chance he's around more to serve as a mentor for the two younger quarterbacks on the team, Peterman and prized rookie Josh Allen. We'll see if there's eventually a pecking order to it all, but you're resting your fantasy hopes on who the No. 2 quarterback is in the league's worst-ranked passing offense will be, this may not be your year for a title.

Peterman will serve as the Bills' backup quarterback Sunday against the Chargers after Josh Allen was named the team's starting signal-caller, Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite a much-maligned 2017 campaign that included a five-interception half against these same Chargers the Bills will face in Week 2, Peterman emerged from training camp as Buffalo's top quarterback, beating out Allen and the since-departed AJ McCarron for those honors. Though he seemed to show some increased comfort behind center during the preseason, Peterman failed to demonstrate any improvement in the Bills' embarrassing 47-3 loss to the Ravens, completing just five of 18 passes for 24 yards and tossing two interceptions before being pulled in the third quarter. Allen didn't provide much better production upon replacing Peterman, but it appears the Bills are inclined to let the rookie first-round pick learn on the fly with Peterman providing little evidence to date that he's an NFL-caliber starter. Over his five regular-season appearances to date, Peterman owns a 2:7 TD:INT and has completed just 43.2 percent of his passes.

Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that he's still evaluating Peterman and Josh Allen, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peterman was replaced by the rookie in the third quarter of Sunday's 47-3 loss to Baltimore after completing just five of 18 passes for 24 yards with a pair of interceptions. Allen only completed six of 15 passes for 74 yards, but he at least managed to avoid turnovers while closing out the game in garbage time. The Bills don't seem to be in any rush to name a starter for a Week 2 matchup with a Chargers team that memorably picked Peterman off five times last year. Even if it doesn't happen this week, Allen likely will take over the starting job soon enough.

Peterman gave way to Josh Allen in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
With the Ravens up 40-0 and Peterman not getting anything going (5-for-18 for 24 yards), the Bills turned to their 2018 first-rounder. It remains to be seen if the change sticks, but given how bad Peterman looked Sunday, the Bills probably having nothing to lose by giving Allen a chance to start in Week 2 against the Chargers.

Peterman has been named Buffalo's starting quarterback for Sunday's regular-season opener at Baltimore, the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peterman beat rookie Josh Allen and AJ McCarron (who was traded to Oakland) for the job. Peterson completed 33 of 41 passes for 431 yards during the preseason.
