White had been fighting for a roster spot to open training camp, but with the season-ending injury to Jordy Nelson (knee), White may have earned his spot on the team after an excellent showing Saturday. With Randall Cobb suffering a minor shoulder injury just three plays into the game, White saw action sooner than he expected, recording a target in the second possession of the second quarter and didn't get taken out until mid-way through the fourth quarter. Even with the injuries to Nelson and Cobb, White is still buried behind Davante Adams, Jeff Janis and Ty Montgomery on the depth chart and will probably serve as special teams depth if he makes the final 53.

White was released by the Packers on Saturday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. White was active for seven games in 2013, yet only accumulated nine catches (on 12 targets) for 66 yards. He's practice-squad eligible, though, and could very well find himself back in Green Bay.

Now that James Jones has left for Oakland, White's back in the saddle. He's a deep threat first with 4.4 wheels but has also packed on ten pounds this offseason and is up to 6-foot, 190. GM Ted Thompson could very easily select a receiver early in May's draft.
